⚠️ This is what can happen if your caravan brakes bind or you forget to release the handbrake before setting off! 🛞🔥

As you can see, the brake hubs have been severely damaged, while the brake shoes have completely disintegrated from the extreme heat—melting and damaging the surrounding components too. 🛠️💥

Always check that your handbrake is fully released before towing. ✅ If the caravan feels unusually heavy, doesn’t roll freely, or you notice excessive heat or a burning smell from the wheels, stop immediately and have the braking system inspected by an approved workshop or NTA-accredited technician. 🚐🛑

William is getting to grips with the tools in the workshop and learning from Dad. He’s been using a voltmeter to check the voltage at the charger and leisure battery, as well as learning how a gas analyser is used to ensure appliances are operating safely and that the products of combustion are correct. Also being ACS qualified and qualified to use a gas analyser and Gas safe registered.

make sure your vehicle is served at the Service Centre and not driven or taken anywhere else. Or Service by other. Engineers A lot of  misleading things going on check your mileage or check your tracker regularly and check out the workshop address

Training the Next Generation at Tourer Techs! 🔧

William was back in the workshop helping Dad change a failed AL-KO axle on a Bailey caravan.

The before and after shots really show the difference — you can clearly see the amount of play in the old axle compared with the replacement. A great opportunity for William to get hands-on, learn from Dad and understand not just how we replace an axle, but why it has failed and what to look out for.

There’s no substitute for learning alongside experienced technicians and getting involved with real jobs. Passing that knowledge on to the next generation is what a family business is all about. ❤️

William was on hand helping Dad diagnose a Truma fault code on a Combi 6E boiler in a motorhome.

There’s no better way to learn than working alongside experienced, knowledgeable engineers — asking questions, understanding the diagnostics and seeing how problems are solved in the real world.

Passing knowledge and experience on to the next generation… we’re training them up the right way! ❤️🔧

It’s been another busy week at Tourer Techs! ☀️🥵

With the heat this week, it’s meant plenty of early morning starts for the team to try and beat the hottest part of the day!

We’ve had a real Truma air-con week, fitting a selection of different air-conditioning systems to keep our customers cool and comfortable on their travels. ❄️🚐

It’s also been a Speedcoat week, with shower tray repairs keeping us busy alongside everything else.

Hot weather certainly doesn’t slow the workshop down! 🔧☀️
