How to choose the wheel size on a folding bike?
Choosing the perfect folding bike for your needs comes down to decisions about weight, folding size, gears and tires. But often the first decision is the wheel size as that determines the type of cycling you plan to do. The most common wheel size is 20”. However, all the popular Brompton Bicycle bikes have 16” wheels, as some models from Beixo and Dahon. Slightly larger 24” wheels are available on some Tern Bicycles and Dahon bikes whereas Montague Bikes specialise in full size 26”/700c wheels. Choosing between small and large wheels can lead to big differences in weight, price, folding size and your cycling experience. So what’s the best wheel choice for your demands?
