Fire stopping systems are designed to keep fire, smoke and toxic gases contained, but only when they’re installed as tested.

A common mistake is mixing products from different manufacturers, like pairing one brand’s sealant with another’s fire batt.

The issue? These products are tested as complete systems, not mix-and-match solutions. Once you start combining brands, performance cannot be guaranteed in the event of a fire.

Stick to tested systems, follow manufacturer guidance, and keep everything compatible.
