Just a few things I’m currently trying very hard not to take home with me…

One of my biggest challenges is being surrounded by things I love every day and somehow leaving them in the shop. My husband would kill me if they all started mysteriously appearing at home.

So here are a few of my current favourites! Some practical, some beautifully handmade and, of course, a super cute cuddly addition because I’m a big kid at heart.

If you’ve stumbled across our page for the first time, then hello and welcome to our little world of all things handmade and wonderful ✨

Of course, I’ve got HEAPS more favourites, but we’d be here all day if I showed you everything.

Hope you’re having a lovely day! 🩵

Just your average evening at The Lizard… standing outside with a colander 😂

Last night everyone gathered to watch the solar eclipse and we were lucky enough to have a pretty fabulous viewing spot here at The Lizard.

For the best part of an hour we sat together and watched as the moon slowly crept across the sun. There was something really special about stopping what we were doing, heading outside and sharing one of those little moments that doesn’t happen every day.

And before anyone mentions the photo… NO, we did not look directly at the sun. 😂 The four pairs of sunglasses were purely for dramatic effect. We used our very sophisticated eclipse-viewing equipment instead… otherwise known as a piece of paper and a colander.

Did you manage to catch the eclipse last night? 🌙 Where did you watch it from?

Good morning from a very sunny little shop on the hill! ☀️🩵

The Lizard is looking particularly lovely this week and apparently the forecast for the rest of the week is... sunshine, followed by a little more sunshine. We’ll happily take it!

The doors are open, the coffee has been consumed and we’re ready for another busy summer day. We absolutely love this time of year, especially seeing so many familiar faces returning to the Lizard alongside lots of new ones discovering our little corner of Cornwall for the first time.

If you’re heading down to the Point this week, come and say hello. We’d love to see you!

Open 7 days a week | 10am to 4:30pm 🩵

Hope you all have a lovely day, wherever you are! ☀️

This really wasn’t the post we had planned for today. 💔

Unfortunately, today our little shop was targeted by a shoplifter who stole over £40 worth of handmade items.
We have the incident on CCTV and, although we didn’t realise what had happened at the time, we are now aware of exactly what took place.

To some people, it might not seem like a lot. But to a small, independent business like ours, and to the talented artist who lovingly made those pieces by hand, it really does matter.

We work incredibly hard to fill our little shop with beautiful, unusual finds and to create a warm, welcoming place for everyone who visits. To have that trust taken advantage of is genuinely heartbreaking.

To the person responsible, please know that we have CCTV footage of the incident. More than anything, we’re disappointed. The kindness, honesty and community spirit that so many of you bring through our doors every day is what Mungo Lils is all about, and there simply isn’t a place for behaviour like this here.

We won’t let today take away from everything we love about running our little shop, but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t upset.

To everyone who visits, supports us, shops with us, shares our posts and chooses to support independent businesses... thank you. You remind us every single day why we do what we do, and it means more than you’ll ever know. 🩵

Some pieces just feel like they’re meant for someone... 🩵

The moment this vase left the gallery a few days ago, I had a feeling it was heading to a really special home... and seeing these photos proved I was right.

We spend so much time carefully curating the collection in our little shop. We love supporting artists wherever we can and searching for unusual, one-of-a-kind pieces that you won’t find just anywhere.

So when someone walks in, falls in love with something and gives it a place in their own home, it genuinely makes us smile.

A huge thank you to everyone who takes the time to send us photos like this. It feels like we get to be a tiny part of each piece’s journey, from the artist’s hands to its forever home, and that’s something we’ll never take for granted.

So... what do you think? Would this vase have a place in your home? 🏡

July reminded us why we love doing what we do. 🩵

Slow mornings by turquoise water.

Choosing beautiful things for the shop.

Making, packing and sending little pieces of Cornwall all over the UK.

Watching people discover this corner of the world for the very first time.

Finding inspiration where the sea meets the cliffs.
And somehow calling all of this... work.

Thank you to every single person who visited the shop, placed an online order, stopped to chat, or simply followed along this month. Supporting a little family business means more than you probably realise.

Here’s to whatever August brings. 🌊

Which slide is your favourite?

Come to the edge with me… the water really is this colour 🩵

Turquoise seas, slow mornings and the simple joy of watching people discover this little corner of Cornwall for the first time.

There’s something quite special about seeing people stop, take it all in and realise just how beautiful the Lizard Point really is. Somehow, even though I see this view almost every day, it never gets old.

I still have to pinch myself sometimes that I’m lucky enough to call this my workplace.

Could you ever get tired of this view?

And if you love Cornwall, coastal life and discovering the quieter moments in between, follow along for more from our little shop by the sea. 🩵

Hello from our little shop on the hill 🩵

With the summer holidays almost here, we thought it was the perfect time to say a little hello!

We’re Mungo Lils, a little family-run gift shop and gallery perched at the Lizard Point, filled with handmade treasures, unusual finds and plenty of things inspired by the coast.

We’ve been completely blown away by how many of you have already come back to visit and support our little business this year. It really does mean the world to us so thank you, we couldn’t do this without you!

If you’re heading to the Lizard this summer, pop in and say hello. We can’t wait to see lots of familiar faces and hopefully plenty of new ones too!

Open 7 days a week | 10am – 4:30pm ✨

When you turn up to work and THIS is the first thing you see… 🥹🦭

Just look at this little cutie having the best time splashing around in the shallows… and can we talk about the colour of that water?!

Some days I really do have to pinch myself that we get to live and work in such an incredible little corner of Cornwall. Running a small business certainly has its challenges, but moments like this make it all feel pretty special. 🩵

We hope you have a wonderful weekend and get to enjoy some of this glorious sunshine!

And if you love Cornish life, little coastal adventures and the occasional unexpected visitor, follow along with us. Or if you simply fancy escaping to Cornwall for a little while, you’re always welcome here 🌊
