Twiglet and Toasty are managing to stay cool and they hope you are too. They would like to encourage you to visit Rapkyns Nursery where there is plenty of shade and masses of colour.

The nursery is just like a garden with beauty in every direction. Do bring a picnic and take some time out for your self, listen to the birds sing and watch the butterflies as they dart around. I have spotted hummingbird hawk moths this week and all sort of other wildlife too. (There was even a tabby cat yesterday lurking in the car park!!)

Don't think of Rapkyns Nursery as just a nursery! It is much more than that.

It is a garden in pots, full of inspiration and colour that just happens to have plants for sale. There are places to sit and contemplate or to just take some time for your self. There is a beautiful beach hut to admire, benches in the sun and a large gazebo casting plenty of shade. We dont have a tea room but you are encouraged to bring a picnic and we always have free cold drinks available.

Really looking forward to opening for the National Garden Scheme on wednesday 9th September. I will be giving a talk on how we grow our lovely plants and the challenges we have faced with the weather this year. It will be a really fun day and you ard welcome to stay as long as you like. I am going to watch the eclipse at Rapkyns Nursery this evening and you are very welcome to join me (from 6pm)

The nursery is so beautiful in the evening when the temperature has dropped and I normally experience this alone so it would be great to share. Do come and join me (and the doggies!) For a great view of the eclipse and dont forget your glasses.

It's too hot and dry for planting ..... but it is perfect weather for painting a pebble to add to the Rapkyns Nursery rock snake.

We have plenty of pebbles and paint and a book full of ideas, so why not spend some time awakening your creative spirit while sitting amongst all our lovely plants.

Really excited about Open Studios Rapkyns Nursery on 5th & 6th Sept

There will be 12 artists all round the nursery, some will be demonstrating and all will be talking about how they create their work including textiles, copper plated natural materials, water colours, oil, acrylics and pencil work.

There will be a chance to have a play with a variety of different art materials and refreshments will be available with all proceeds going to the MND Association.

Rudbeckia, Helenium, grasses, Phlox, Alstromeria, Helianthus, Tritonia, Dahlia, Salvia and so much more all in flower and looking resplendent. There really is so much to see at Rapkyns Nursery right now and as we head into late summer, there is plenty still to flower.
