☀️Advice from KWT:☀️
Amber heath health alert over the next few days.
Prolonged heat can be particularly difficult for older people, babies and young children, people with underlying health conditions and anyone who struggles to regulate their body temperature.
Certain medicines can also affect how well the body copes with heat or dehydration, so if you're concerned about medication during very hot weather, speak to a pharmacist, GP or other healthcare professional rather than stopping or changing anything yourself.
Keep drinking regularly throughout the day, particularly if you're outside or working in the heat.
Try to avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the afternoon, keep curtains or blinds closed where direct sunshine is heating rooms, and make use of the cooler morning and evening periods where possible.
And please check on family, friends and neighbours who might struggle during prolonged hot weather.
Sometimes a simple phone call or knock on the door can make a bigger difference than you realise.
