In honour of 1940's Weekend in Haworth, why not try our old school sweets, these are some of the most popular sweets from the 1940s.

Come and grab a bag of nostalgia this weekend at Mrs Beightons.

Did you know confectionery was rationed starting in July 1942, adults and children were only allowed 2 ounces per week.... working out to around 50 grams of sweets per week.

Join us for the much-loved 1940s Weekend on 16th & 17th May – The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and Haworth village will be dressed to impress, with vintage decorations, music, dancing and good old-fashioned fun around every corner!

Mrs Beighton's Sweet Shop is joining in the celebration – we’ve decked out the shop in true wartime style and filled the shelves with nostalgic treats that’ll take you right back. From ration-era favourites to classic boiled sweets in jars, there’s something for every sweet tooth.

Pop in, say hello, and grab a paper bag of memories.

Candlelighters do incredible work supporting children and families across Yorkshire who are facing childhood cancer. Every penny really does make a difference — and you’ve helped bring a little light during some of the darkest times.
