A small town with a big vision for inclusion, music, and community. 🎶
Martinsville-on-the-Move, a volunteer-led group in Illinois, has transformed The Woodlands into a welcoming space where people of all ages and abilities can come together to play, connect, and make music.
Alongside play equipment and fitness features, the group wanted to ensure the park included activities everyone could enjoy, including those with disabilities or mobility challenges. Outdoor musical instruments became the perfect solution, creating an inclusive experience that encourages creativity, connection, and fun for all.
The project also serves as a beautiful memorial to Bob Hills, a passionate music educator and supporter of the arts within the community.

The new instruments, including the Capella Outdoor Xylophone, Alto Quartet Ensemble, Music Book, and Talk Tubes are already becoming a favourite feature for local families, visitors, and schools.
“We are delighted by the response from the community to our new instruments in the park,” says Brenda Littlejohn from Martinsville-on-the-Move.
