A successful army marches on its stomach. A successful wargamer marches on an alarming quantity of accessories.

Moonhopper Games has everything required to turn your gaming table from “two armies and a tape measure” into a fully equipped theatre of miniature conflict.

Explore battlemats, dice trays, movement trays, data cards, tokens, markers, rulers, laser pointers, wound trackers and more...all designed to keep the game moving and reduce the number of tactical disputes settled by pointing aggressively at the rulebook.

Your troops have been painted. Your battlefield has been built. It is time to equip the commander...

When your miniature battlefield needs to look like the Emperor forgot to pay the heating bill, reach for Moonhopper Games Frostbite. This technical paint creates realistic icy textures, frozen ground and crusted snowdrifts with minimal effort and maximum hypothermia.

Apply Frostbite thickly with an old brush or sculpting tool for packed snow, or stipple lightly over rocks and ruins for that “campaign has gone terribly wrong” winter sheen. For layered frozen terrain, start with Base Grey or Base Blue, wash recesses using Grey Day or Black Smoke shading medium, then drybrush with Base White before adding Frostbite on top. Finish with Moonhopper's Shattered Glass scatter or Silver Desolation tufts for frozen wasteland realism worthy of a doomed northern crusade.

It’s also brilliant for weapon frosting, frozen tank tracks, ice caves and the boots of infantrymen questioning every life choice that led them onto an arctic battlefield. Side effects may include numb fingers, tactical misery, and one bloke insisting this counts as “summer conditions”.

Are you tired of trying to build, trim, drill and sculpt miniatures using one ancient craft knife, suspicious side cutters and the sheer emotional force of denial?

Moonhopper Games has been improving its online tools range, making it easier to find the workbench essentials that turn “that’ll probably do” into “actually, that came out rather nicely.”

From cutting and shaping to filing, clamping, measuring, scraping, sculpting and general hobby sorcery, we’ve gathered the useful things that make miniature projects smoother, neater and less likely to end with you muttering at a half-glued arm.

Perfect for kitbashers, terrain builders, army painters and anyone whose desk currently looks like a small industrial accident.

Upgrade your workbench. Your miniatures deserve better.

Smells awful (only kidding). Looks fantastic.

Swamp Thing is the ultimate wetland terrain mix for bogs, jungles and swampy death worlds. Ideal for lizardfolk, jungle warfare and fantasy realms where every puddle contains at least one creature eager to eat your scouts.

Designed to deliver realistic coverage quickly while keeping your scenery gloriously filthy.

Mars called. It wants its dust storms back.

Utopia Planitia is engineered for red planet battlefields, Martian colonies and dusty sci-fi bases. Ideal for grim industrial worlds, exploration campaigns and suspiciously doomed terraforming projects.

Looks incredible alongside metallics, rust effects and Moonhopper technical paints. Just don’t inhale the dust unless you enjoy coughing dramatically into a vox-caster.

Nothing says “civilised naval dispute” like cannon fire and screaming pirates.

Use our Adularia Rock Pot to create fantastic rocky coastal scenery, shattered docks and battle-scarred beaches for historical and fantasy naval boards alike.

Add drama to your tabletop. And possibly scurvy.

Nothing says “Welcome to the battlefield” quite like a landscape that appears to be cold, waterlogged and quietly digesting the fallen.

In our latest basing video, we create a bleak and barren base using two technical paints - Quagmire Brown and Desert Storm, to create a suitably miserable patch of ground. It is perfect for grim fantasy armies, historical forces, post-apocalyptic warbands and any miniature whose boots deserve to be permanently damp. Also, you can use these two paints in reverse, if you want a very dusty desert-like base.

Moonhopper Technical paints can help turn the effect from merely muddy to genuinely unnatural. Quagmire Brown is ideal for sodden ground and swampy recesses, while Desert Storm can dustily degrade or enhance darker earthen colours, depending upon how you brush it on.

Watch the video, embrace the gloom and give your miniatures a base that looks as though even the local wildlife has packed up and left.

Materials used:

28mm and 32mm plastic bases
Expo Light Grey Spray Primer (XP1000)
Base Brown Acrylic Paint (MG2508)
Quagmire Brown Technical Paint (MG2055)
Desert Storm Technical Paint (MG2020)
Moss Acre Flock Pot (MG4155)
Harsh Marsh Flock Pot (MG4160)
Meadow Green Grass Tufts (MG4010)
Weedy Scrub Grass Tufts (MG4030)

Your battlefield called. It wants more nightmares.

Terrorform is a brutal-looking terrain mix designed for twisted alien ground, corrupted landscapes and battlefields where even the dirt seems hostile. Great for chaos worlds, daemon realms and sci-fi horrors beyond mortal comprehension.

Included in Moonhopper’s Terrain Pot Gift Set, because terror is best shared with friends.

War is green. Usually because it’s damp, mouldy, radioactive…or all three...

Moonhopper Games Base Green is the workhorse colour your miniature army didn’t ask for, but absolutely needs. Ideal for fatigues, tank hulls, alien jungles, ork skin, toxic swamps, or that “abandoned military depot after the third unfortunate incident” look.

As a base coat, it covers beautifully over infantry uniforms and terrain pieces alike. Thin it slightly for smoother layering on cloaks and vehicles, or stipple it onto bases for muddy woodland effects. Pair it with Quagmire Brown and Martian Dustbowl technical paints for churned-up battlefield mud that looks like twenty years-worth of bad decisions. Add Moss Acre flock or Scrubland Green tufts to finish the scene with proper trench-line misery.

Want extra brutality? Shade any recesses with Moonhopper shading mediums, then edge-highlight with Khaki Dream for worn combat gear. For rusted armour and dying machinery, combine Base Green with Hurdy Verdigris and Sword Silver metallics for beautifully corroded military hardware.

Remember: camouflage only works until somebody rolls a natural 20.
