A strong frame is always worth saving. 🪑

These dining chairs recently came into our workshop with solid, well-built wooden frames that still had many years of use left in them. The seat pads, however, had become tired and worn — which is completely normal over time.

From an upholsterer’s point of view, replacing the whole chair would have been unnecessary. When the joints are secure and the frames remain strong, reupholstering the seat pads is often the most practical and cost-effective option.

We renewed the padding where required and recovered each seat in a smart, hard-wearing fabric, giving the full set a fresh new look while retaining the quality of the original chairs.

Before replacing your dining chairs, check the frames. If they are solid, the seat pads can usually be restored for many more years of comfortable use.

🌿 Why do our made-to-measure outdoor cushions cost more than standard replacements? 🌿

A lovely customer recently visited us after the cushions on his garden furniture had become flat, uncomfortable and worn — a very common problem with many outdoor furniture sets.

When we provided a quotation, he understandably said, “For that price, I may as well buy new garden furniture.”

The important difference is that we don’t make cheap, like-for-like replacements. Buying another furniture set may simply mean getting the same lower-quality cushion interiors, which could flatten again after limited use.

Our cushions are made to measure using:

✅ High-quality outdoor fabric chosen for durability and outdoor use
✅ Professional construction and finishing
✅ Careful pattern matching and handmade piping
✅ Covers tailored specifically to your furniture

The price reflects the quality of the materials, the skilled workmanship involved and the fact that every cushion is individually made — not mass-produced.

We may not always be the cheapest option, but our aim is to provide cushions that feel better, look better and last considerably longer. Sometimes it makes more sense to invest in the cushions than replace a perfectly good furniture frame. ☀️

✨ From tired and dated to bold and beautiful! ✨

This traditional button-back chair has been completely transformed in a rich blue fabric, giving it a fresh new look while keeping all of its original character.

With a steel frame beneath the upholstery, this wasn’t a straightforward recover—many of the panels had to be carefully hand-sewn into position to achieve a neat, professional finish. A lot of skill, patience and attention to detail went into this one, and the results speak for themselves!
