Went to Lichfield to see Paul Smith make his re-knowned animal figures and how to do this. He had a great frame to help hold the animal until stiff enough to hold itself. Brilliant day, although sodding raining first thing and loads of puddles. Deffo have ago at making the rig, to help; hold the creation, although tried it there to do a lion, mine was not very good.

Hi I am hoping that a qualified gas person can help me to check over my kiln. It is firing as we speak, but I would like someone to check it over for leaks and performance. Give me some tips on gas flow and size of bottle. I have fired a long time this way, had a break and used Electricity but this is not the best way, gas far better. Too many problems, elements, connections etc. please help. thank you. Sally White.

I have been taking in a second Raku party we held at the Pottery at the Jinney Ring our studio and shop. I work with two other potters, where we can manage to be there every day. We do Taster sessions for anyone who would really like to have a go on the wheel. or make a pot. We also have a showroom for all the pottery we make between us.

A most up to date Taster session. We have so many taster sessions,. it is hard to choose which pictures to post. The first one I have downloaded is two mums and two daughteres, who did really well at their throwing. Sure they wonder where their pots are. I am so sorry but my kiln died it is being treated to some new elements and a refurb. Takes ages. ......Sorry to everyone who is waiting. will add photos when computer lets me.....

Our evening classes are starting again. All quite full, but there are a few spaces. If you fancy not just painting a pot but making it from a lump of clay. Just like the pottery Throw down.
Do come to see us. we can usually offer something to tickle the taste buds. A Taster session when you have the time, the urge to be creative. Picture of some of the student pieces. an example of the brilliant things they make not just paint.
