Hampton Bookshop

Hampton Bookshop The Book Shop is run entirely by volunteers. The shop receives donations from the public which are sold on site and the proceeds donated to charity.

Fundraising for charities is the aim of The Book Shop in Ashley Road, Hampton, as it has been for over 35 years. In 2010/2011 it raised over £5,000 which it shared between charities including; Teddington Hospital, Princess Alice Hospice, The Alzheimer’s Society and Hearing Dogs for the Deaf. The shop is conveniently situated in the heart of the village outside Hampton station and is packed with a

wide range of books. It is a little gem; on its shelves you will find a selection of novels, thrillers, historical fiction, the classics and lots of books for children. Why not pay them a visit, who knows what treasures you could find? It is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10.30 until 5pm. Wednesday, 10.30 until 12.30 and Saturday 10.30 until 3pm.The shop is entirely staffed by a team of friendly volunteers, mostly retired folk who give their time willingly for such good causes.

🎬📺 Now Streaming in store. Before it was a series there was a quirky movie but we like getting our stories directly from the source. Have you read Lemony Snicket’s Series of Unfortunate Events?

The Bad Beginning is the first novel of the children’s novel series A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. The novel tells the story of three children, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire, who become orphans following a fire and are sent to live with Count Olaf, who attempts to steal their inheritance.

This series may be meant for kids but the clever narration and word play appeal to the young at heart. ❤️ The whole series is currently available in shop as a box set as well as this first book in the Series.

📺🎬🍿 Now Streaming In Store. As seen on channel 4 and Amazon Prime, the Handmaids Tale. Have you read this Margaret Atwood classic?

The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood is a dystopian novel set in a version of the United States that has been overthrown by religious fundamentalists. In what was once most likely Massachusetts, under the militaristic regime of the Republic of Gilead, women no longer have civil rights or autonomy.

This and hundreds of other books are available in our shop next to Hampton Station. Our stock is constantly changing so if you haven’t been in for a while it is worth popping by.

Have you seen the classic on Netflix? How about ready the classic?

The life of a ten-year-old black girl is shattered by two drunken and remorseless white men. The mostly white town of Clanton in Ford County, Mississippi, reacts with shock and horror at the inhuman crime—until the girl’s father acquires an assault rifle and takes justice into his own hands.

Pop into the shop to find this and other crime and thrillers.
