Leah is one of our wonderful Trustees at Halifax Street Angels. We are so thankful for her support, dedication and commitment. Thankfully she will still be part of Street Angels

💛 Thank You, Leah 💛

Today we want to give a massive thank you to Leah, who has lovingly run the Angels Rest Café on Crossley Street in Halifax for the past 12 years.

Leah has been there through thick and thin — always ready with a smile, a warm welcome, and a generous heart. She’s cared for everyone who’s come through the door — including many experiencing homelessness in Halifax town centre — offering free sandwiches, drinks, and kindness to anyone in need.

After twelve incredible years of service, Leah is now stepping back, and we just want to honour the difference she’s made in so many lives.

We’re excited to share that The Light Group will now be partnering with the Halifax Street Angels to continue her amazing legacy — with plans to re-launch the café early next year as a Hope Hub for the local community.

Leah, thank you for everything. You’ve truly been a light in Halifax. 💛

The cafe will be reopening tomorrow for food and drinks from 10-2. From next week we will be open Tuesdays and Fridays 10-2

☕️ Volunteers Needed! 🍽️

We need volunteers to help run our Angels Rest Community Cafe. You will support charity events, provide suspended coffees and meals and be a warm and supportive presence in our town centre.
Aside from these day to day activities in the cafe your efforts will financially support .
We require volunteers with a heart for serving the public and experience in a cafe or public facing role. If you can volunteer either Tuesday 10am-2pm, Thursday 10am-2pm and/or Friday 10am-2pm please either PM us or visit: https://www.halifaxstreetangels.org to connect and register your interest.

This will be a great opportunity to do something positive, make friends and gain valuable experience. 😇👍

Tonight you can find us at our Angels Rest Cafe and Book Shop (Crossley Street, next door to YMCA) until 3am.

All are welcome! You can get out of the cold. Have a hot drink ☕️ , something to eat 🧁, charge your phone 📱, wait for a taxi 🚖, basic first aid support 🤕, or we have coats hats and gloves if you are homeless and need something warm 🧣🧤.

Also, if you see anyone who needs help in our town, feel free to point them our way. We will make them welcome. 😇👍

Due to Leah having been taken ill with pneumonia while on holiday the cafe will remain closed until she’s better.
