I was gutted to receive this news earlier today. Sadly I didn't get the opportunity to meet Peter Usborne but I hoped I would, alas it was not to be. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity I was given to be a small part of this amazing company. What a legacy this great man has left to the world. Children's publishing will never be the same thanks to his passion, vision and mission. If you share your home with a child read them a story tonight, or pick up another book on a subject that interests them and read that. Journey well and fly high Peter Usborne. The world has truly lost a great ❤️

We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of our beloved founder and chairman Peter Usborne CBE. Peter passed away peacefully this morning surrounded by his family.

Peter was an exceptional publisher, an inspirational leader and a lovely man. He will be incredibly missed by his family and everyone here at Usborne.

Nicola Usborne, Peter’s daughter and Usborne’s managing director said “My dad always felt that he’d had the absolute best life, and that publishing for children for 50 years was the greatest privilege he could imagine.”
