One year ago today, we filled our very first cask: an Infinity Cask, bespoke to Ardgowan, crafted from European oak and seasoned for years with Sherry from the celebrated bodega José y Miguel Martín. That spirit is now resting in one of our dunnage warehouses, and will do for many more years to come 🥃

When our Distillery Manager, Laura Davies, was asked what she enjoys most about working at Ardgowan, she shared:

"The sense that what we do now genuinely counts. At an older, more established distillery, you're often working within a very defined house style, which has real value, but you're also constrained in the impact you can have. Here, we're making every decision to define the future Ardgowan Single Malt. It's a big responsibility, but very exciting to be a part of."

Meet Harry, one of our Distillery Operators 🥃

He's involved in every stage of production, from mashing and fermentation through to distilling and warehousing. Harry shared: "It's cool to see us filling these warehouses with something we've created; it’s just annoying that we have to wait so long for someone to try it!"

Affectionately named 'the 100 proof' in the Visitor Centre!

A higher strength version of our original 12 year old Sherry Cask expression, this Single Malt is bottled at 57.1% ABV. The strength corresponds to the traditional British 100 proof system, historically defined as the point at which a spirit could still ignite gunpowder.
Matured in a combination of Sherry butts followed by PX and Oloroso hogsheads, this release intensifies the dark fruit, spice and oak character. Proudly unchillfiltered and with no added colour.

We are open 7 days a week for distillery tours and tasting flights. Or just swing by for a peek to see our Cathedral of Whisky. Ardgowan Distillery is a great visit.

Our Clydebuilt 2005 Bourbon Hogshead Single Grain was distilled at Cameronbridge Distillery and matured for 20 long years in a single American oak cask. The bronze liquid brims with buttered popcorn, heather honey and peach cobbler drizzled with cream 🤤
