I can’t believe I am writing this post but to be honest, it has been something I have tried holding off on for a while now.

For those of you who have supported me from the beginning, you will know that I opened up Sweet Like Candy in 2020 during lockdown after closing my nail salon.
This was a risk but at the time it was the best decision I made.
Business was booming, I did hundreds of orders in my first 2 weeks and continued to grow and get super busy.

I have invested SO much time and money into this business and cannot thank everyone enough for the support I have had.
The past year has been very difficult for a number of reasons.
Supply issues, supplier price increases, general inflation and low demand, cancelled/not collected orders, just to name a few.

My suppliers for packaging and stock have increased so much over the past year meaning my margins are so stretched.
The demand is just no longer present, there are so many businesses operating on a bigger scale that can offer cheap prices which I just cannot compete with.
I feel I am very competitive in price but unfortunately I am not charging enough for the time, stock, tax, packaging etc, I am barely covering my cost price let alone making a profit and paying myself a wage.

Business has been very slow and deflated the past year and I have tried everything to get it booming to how it once was but unfortunately, nothing has changed, I am barely getting any orders anymore.

I am so heartbroken that I am unable to make this work but I am left with no choice but to close down as I physically cannot afford to keep trading, it’s just not worth my while.

With this said, I am so grateful for everyone who has ordered from me, you guys are what kept me trading for these past couple of years.
