We recently completed a full flooring transformation for this customer.

The project included removing the existing skirting boards, uplifting a fully bonded wooden floor, fitting new skirting boards, and preparing the subfloor with Kelmore smoothing compound to create the perfect base.

The finishing touch was a beautiful Amtico Décor floor, expertly centred with a border for a classic, eye-catching finish.

Every stage was completed by our in house fitting team, leaving another home ready to enjoy.

What really makes a great floor fitter?
Apart from wearing a Your New Floor t-shirt, of course... 👕

The truth is, fitting a floor is about so much more than laying the final product.

It starts before the first plank, tile or carpet gripper goes down. A skilled fitter knows how to inspect the subfloor, checking for moisture, uneven areas, loose floorboards and anything else that could affect the finished result. Taking the time to prepare the floor properly is one of the biggest differences between a floor that lasts for years and one that doesn't.

Experience also means understanding how different flooring materials behave. Wood, laminate and LVT all react differently to changes in temperature and humidity, so allowing products to acclimatise correctly before installation is essential.

Then there's the precision. Accurate measuring, careful planning and clean cutting all help to reduce waste and ensure every floor looks its best. Whether it's a straight plank design or an intricate herringbone pattern, a patterned or plain carpet, or a natural flat weave, attention to detail always matters.

The finishing touches are just as important. Making sure trims, thresholds and edges are finished neatly, it's these details that separate a good fitter from a great one.

A full ground floor transformation completed.

The original engineered wood flooring had reached the end of its life, so we removed and disposed of it before installing Floorify Ikura rigid core LVT in an elegant herringbone layout across the entire ground floor.

Herringbone never goes out of style, and with Floorify's rigid core construction, this customer now has a floor that's as practical as it is stylish.

We were delighted to donate our time and some artificial grass to all 31 plinths for the amazing bears taking part in the Wild in Art Dartford Bear Hunt. 🐻

It's been a real pleasure to support a project that brings our local community together while raising money for a fantastic cause. Seeing the colourful bears displayed across Dartford has made all the hard work worthwhile.

Our bear ' Blum ' is at the bottom of Dartford High Street and has already had 265 visitors

Some floors are all about the preparation. Others are all about the installation. This one was both.

The subfloor was prepared using Kelmore smoothing compound before we installed this stunning Amtico Decor geometric design.

Every individual piece was set out by hand and carefully centred before the borders were built up using multiple feature strips and terracotta detailing.

The finished border alone consists of:
• 3mm grey feature strip
• 6mm black feature strip
• 3mm grey feature strip
• 9mm pale terracotta feature strip
• White and terracotta diamond design
• 9mm pale terracotta feature strip
• 3mm grey feature strip
• 6mm black feature strip
• 3mm grey feature strip

The final wide terracotta border was then perfectly scribed into every skirting board and door frame for a seamless finish.

Completed during 35°C heat.
A challenging install, but one we're really proud of.

As England prepare for another big match on Saturday night, we thought it was the perfect time to introduce one of the superstars in our own team.

Chris joined Your New Floor through our apprenticeship scheme in partnership with FloorSkills, and he's never looked back.

In less than two years in the flooring industry, Chris achieved the fantastic accolade of Quick-Step Master Installer and became the UK's youngest ever Balterio Master Installer. An outstanding achievement that reflects his dedication, skill and attention to detail.

Today, Chris is the backbone of our fitting team and a real superstar. Whether it's LVT, laminate or engineered wood flooring, you can rely on him to deliver a first-class finish every time.
