📸🐠 We wish taking pictures of fish was easy… because we’d be doing it ALL the time! 😂

Nearly half a day, a lot of patience and approximately 500 blurry photos later… we finally got a few decent ones! 🤦‍♀️🤣 They could definitely be better, but the fish clearly had other ideas!

We’ve had a little move around in the shop! 🦐🐟🌿

As you know, we’ve run the shop stock down a little while we were doing this move, but now everything is stocked up and back to normal.

We’ve now dedicated a whole rack to shrimp, nano fish and all sorts of other little gems! We wanted to create a section perfect for anyone who loves the smaller side of the hobby whether you’re setting up a nano tank, shrimp tank or just looking for something a little different.

Plenty more to be added too! 👀

🐟 Why do we keep new fish off sale when they arrive?

Something that surprises quite a few people is that we won’t sell fish on the day they arrive. We settle all of our fish for at least 24-48 hours. But if we feel any fish need longer, they’ll stay off sale for as long as necessary.

Fish have already had a journey before reaching us, so we give them time to settle, eat and get comfortable before catching and bagging them again.

It’s also one of the reasons we choose to source our fish from UK-based suppliers rather than importing them ourselves. Less time travelling helps minimise unnecessary stress before they even reach our tanks.

Some might say turning down a sale is bad for business, but we see it differently. 💙
We’d rather wait and make sure you’re taking home a happy, healthy and settled fish.

Fish health will always come before a quick sale. 🐠

A nice tropical top up has arrived! 🐠

We’ve had 7 boxes of tropical fish delivered today, giving us a much-needed top-up and helping us finish stocking the new rack! 🙌

You may have noticed our tropical selection looking a little low over the past week or so that’s because we’ve been busy moving fish around and getting the new racks ready behind the scenes!

All new arrivals will be OFF SALE for the first 24 hours to settle in, but we’ll be looking nice and stocked for the weekend! 😍

QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED ALL THE TIME! 💬

We thought we’d answer a few of the questions that seem to pop up again and again! 👇🐠

🌿 Do you sell pond fish or pond equipment?
Not yet! We’ve only been open for around 6 months, so ponds weren’t something we got into during our first season. BUT… we’ll definitely be looking at expanding into pond fish, plants and equipment at some point 👀

☀️ How do I keep my aquarium cool during hot weather?
A few simple things can make a big difference:
💡 Keep the aquarium lights off or reduce the hours they’re on
🪟 Keep the lid slightly open if it’s safe to do so and your fish can’t jump out
🌑 Keep the room as cool and dark as possible close curtains/blinds during the hottest part of the day
🌀 Use an aquarium cooling fan to blow across the water surface
💨 Keep plenty of surface movement/aeration going warmer water holds less oxygen

🐠 Do you take unwanted fish or rehome fish?
Unfortunately, we don’t take in fish for rehoming. With limited tank space and quarantine requirements, we have to keep our systems available for stock coming directly from our suppliers

🐟 How often do you get new fish in?
We have new stock arriving regularly! Tropical fish generally arrive weekly, while marine stock tends to arrive every couple of weeks. We always post new arrivals on our socials!

🧪 Do you test aquarium water?
Yes! If something doesn’t seem quite right with your tank, bringing in a water sample is always a great place to start.

💧 Do you sell RO water and ready-mixed saltwater?
Yes! We have both RO water and premixed saltwater available from the shop.
