Late summer heather wreath workshop 💜

This weekend, why not join me to make a locally harvested, heather wreath for your front door?

Harvesting the heather from my friends farmland, I ensure to only take what we need, I protect the habitats by carefully cutting each piece at the node, to ensure fast regrowth. The heather will dry beautifully on your wreath too, allowing for everlasting seasonal decor that you can use again and again.

Workshop price is £40 and will run Sunday from 11 to 1pm.

There aren’t many times you’ll see traditional funeral letter tributes leave my workshop.

I’ve always been drawn to a more natural, country garden style. Flowers that feel as though they’ve been gathered from the meadows, created without floral foam and plastic, and designed to gently return to the earth when their job is done.

But for this very special mum, I wanted to create something her youngest son could instantly read, recognise and connect with. Something bright, joyful and full of the colours of an abundant summer garden, just like the beautiful, vibrant lady she was.

Rather than using plastic foam, I built each letter from chicken wire, filled it with moss gathered from our own woodland to hold moisture and keep the flowers fresh, then carefully secured the structure to a simple wooden frame. It was definitely a bit of trial and error (and I’ve already got ideas for making the structure better and more hidden next time!), but that’s one of the things I love most about bespoke funeral work, every tribute teaches me something new.

Creating farewell flowers is never just about flowers. It’s about telling a story, honouring a life and providing families with a moment of joy on their darkest days.

I truly hope we did our wonderful Paula proud. 🤍

The C word and the most magical day! 🎄🎅🎄

So many people have been asking me when I’m launching my Christmas workshop dates. I’m not launching them just yet. Maybe September! BUT…

I am offering one incredible day course.

🎄

This isn’t just a wreath workshop. It’s a full day of wintering. This is a time to really reconnect with nature.

We’ll begin wrapped up warm, wandering through our private woodland, gathering foliage and natural treasures for the decorations you’ll create throughout the day. We’ll pause amongst the trees for a flask of hot chocolate while I share the history of the woodland and the estate, the beauty of winter foraging and what is safe to gather at this time of year.

Then we’ll make our way back to the Stable to create a luxury Christmas wreath using beautiful seasonal foliage and natural textures.

Lunch will be a hearty warming casserole served with artisan bread, before spending the afternoon weaving a winter bird feeder and creating a festive table centrepiece to take home.

As the light begins to fade, we’ll finish with spiced pear cider made from the pears in our orchard and a warm mince pie.

A day to nourish your creativity, fill your home with handmade Christmas beauty and leave feeling wonderfully festive.

What a lovely day we had yesterday at the Goosnargh & Longridge Agricultural Show. 🌿🤍

We met so many wonderful new faces, had lots of lovely chats about British flowers, and caught up with so many familiar customers too. It was one of those days that leaves your heart feeling very full.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our little stand, took home flowers, or simply came over to say hello. We’re so grateful to be part of such a supportive, community-minded corner of Lancashire. It really is something special.

As the school holidays are almost here, I’m pressing pause just a little to soak up some precious time with my daughter.

Throughout the summer holidays, The Flower Stable will be open Fridays & Saturdays only.

Come September, we’ll be back to our usual opening hours, ready for misty mornings, overflowing buckets of autumn flowers, cosy workshops, pumpkin season and everything we love most about this time of year. 🍂✨
