We are in the process of getting things ready to sell some more loose foodstuffs along with our fruit and veg. We thought our regular and hopefully new customers would be interested in trying the option of bringing in your own containers to fill with as little or as much as you like. We will be selling, rice, pasta, dried fruits, lentils, nuts….we are open to suggestions to help us stock your favourite things. There will also be a small section with cleaning products, detergent, glass cleaner etc.

Well that’s it!

Thank you so much to everyone that has supported Fill Your Boots over the last 4 years, and a huge thank you to my mum and the rest of my family for all their help and support. I still have a couple of posts to share with some pretty incredible figures, highlighting just how much single use packaging we’ve saved.

One of the best bits about owning Fill Your Boots has been the people I’ve met, and the chats we’ve had. A few of you have already found me on social media but if anyone else wants to keep in touch, then feel free to add on Instagram, or Louise Coleman on facebook!!

One of the best things people have said to me over these last few weeks is that they really want to carry on refilling and buying eco friendly products where possible.

Here is part one of my handy guide to refilling in Gloucestershire. I’ve listed the businesses by distance from Fill Your Boots, closest first! If you know of anywhere I haven’t included, please let me know 💚

• Roots Refills in Kingsholm. Wide variety of loose foods, cleaning products (Miniml) and other eco friendly items

• Eastington Farm Shop in Eastington. Range of loose foods, cleaning products (Fill and Miniml), fruit & veg, deli and meat, milk, cafe

• Loose Plastic Free Shop in Stroud. Wide range of loose foods and cleaning refills (SESI) plus lots of eco friendly products.

• Stroud Valleys Project in Stroud. Sells a range of cleaning refills (BioD I believe) plus lots of gorgeous eco friendly products and gifts

• Churchdown Zero in Churchdown. Jo sells SESI cleaning refills from her home, or the Churchdown repair cafe.

• FoodLoose in Cheltenham. They sell a wide variety of loose foods, cleaning refills (SESI) and will soon have freshly made peanut butter!

• Forest Friendly in Lydney. A bit further out but if you live that way, or visit the Forest of Dean, then check out Kirsty’s shop. She sells a wide range of loose foods, cleaning refills (SESI), fresh bread, veg, eggs and eco friendly products.

I can’t believe we’ve somehow arrived at the last week of Fill Your Boots 😢 it feels a bit surreal to be honest.

Some things have completely run out now; washing up liquid, laundry liquid and most of the shampoos and conditioners. We’re also very low on some things so feel free to message if you were coming for something in particular. There is still plenty of jasmine and long grain rice, cereal, dried fruits and seeds though.

Thank you so much for all your donations and swaps on the book shelves over the years. All the books have now been donated to The Spring Centre, a charity based in Olympus Park, Quedgeley. They offer support and care to children and young adults with additional needs and disabilities, and their families, and they will sell the books to raise vital funds.

Where the books were, there are now plenty of jars for sale and more will be available during the week and on Saturday. Everything in the shop must go so let me know if you are interested in any of the fixtures and fittings!

I’m beginning to run low on a few items now but we have plenty of some of your cupboard staples still available. Help a girl out, I love muesli and red lentils but don’t want to be eating them for the rest of my life!!

I’m not in today but my lovely mum will be there to look after you! We still have stock of most things and I’ve got a final delivery arriving next week so no need to panic buy your favourites just yet!!
