BEING BRAVE
Having spent 20 years buying and working for various companies small and large, purchasing everything from fashion to food to furniture (funniest ever buy has been Dick and F***y wipes – adult wet wipes) I have put my big girl pants on and decided to conquer the retail environment on my own. Majic – the driving force of my very existence – my family. M is for Mark, my long suffering,
extremely patient husband and superman dad. J is for Jodi, my beautiful and talented teenage daughter (she’s mastered the art of perfect winged eye-liner – a must for every adolescent girl). I is for Imogen, the fierce adventurer with an imagination on par with Roald Dahl
C is for Charley, the divaesque boss, a force to be reckoned with. Buying for a company is a pretty simple formula – get to know your customer, understand their shopping habits, follow the latest trends, then off you go into the big wide world looking for the goods they want, ensuring they are at the right price and delivered on time. I, however, find it much harder to buy for myself. I like the retro, the quirky, the original, hate following trends as I know they go as quickly as they arrive – what if there are other people out there, like me? So here I am now, buying products that I like, no let’s change that – love. The stuff you want but don’t need, with little touches that make you smile. I hope that you love them too x
