With the introduction of modern CNC machinery and a skilled workforce we are able to offer a quality product within the tight time constraints the industry demands. We pride ourselves in offering a 7 - 10 day delivery schedule for kitchen worktops, which includes full templating, manufacture and installation. We offer a full service from templating to installation on all work carried out. However we are also able to offer the same high quality stone to clients who wish to fit their own. New kitchen fitted for Nick in Warminster, Wiltshire - Caesarstone Primordia, a quartz surface in 20mm, finished with a chamfered edge.

Primordia is one of those colours that looks different every time you catch it in a new light.. a soft, concrete grey base with flecks of off white and grey, and warmer hints of rust, faint yellow and washed green running underneath.

It’s got a raw, industrial character without feeling cold and the chamfered edge keeps the finish clean and considered.

Lovely to see it in and thank you to Nick for having us out to Wiltshire for this one.

As we approach our 25th anniversary, we’re especially proud of the team that’s built this.

Some have been here since day one. Others for 20, 17, 14, 10 years. And some are just starting out, learning the craft from people who’ve spent decades doing it well.

That’s 171 years between us- not just time served, but real skill. The kind that comes from doing dozens of different jobs, hundreds of different stones and knowing how to handle each one.

You don’t get that from a manual. You get it from experience. From paying attention. From caring about the details.

That’s what we’ve built and continue building.

If you’re a material lover too, we’d love to help you find the right stone for your project, not just the best looking one.

GRANITE: hardwearing and the toughest of these four on heat.. from a worktop to a fireplace surround, it takes daily use well, though a trivet’s still good practice.
MARBLE : softer and it’ll mark and etch with acids like lemon and wine, which is exactly why people love it for a bar top or bathroom vanity even a kitchen- somewhere character matters as much as toughness.
QUARTZ: a consistent, manufactured pattern that holds up well anywhere it gets heavy daily use. Just keep the trivets out for hot pans, wherever it’s fitted.
QUARTZITE: a natural stone, despite the similar name to quartz- usually harder than granite and often has the kind of veined look people fall for in marble, minus marble’s softness.
PORCELAIN: scratch and heat resistant, comes in huge slab sizes and works just as well in an outdoor kitchen as it does indoors.

None of them is “the best” one, just the right one for how you’ll use it.

Most of what delays a stone install isn’t really about the stone. It’s two things, usually: a sink or hob that changes after we’ve already templated (the slab cut to that exact specification, so it has to be redone), or cabinets that aren’t quite ready when we come to measure (template).

The other one people don’t think about- a 100kg+ island top doesn’t fit through every doorway or up every staircase. Worth mentioning to the team before templating.

If you’ve got stairs, a tight landing or an awkward turn into your home, you’re not the first person to worry about how a stone island is supposed to get in there.
We had exactly that this week at Frome showroom. First floor, no lift.
Six of us, a lot of careful inching and it went up without a mark on 👏🏼

That’s the bit you wouldn’t necessarily think about until it’s your space.

This kitchen island in Gillingham has a 30mm Steel Grey granite top and one edge runs straight along an original stone wall.

Old stone walls like this were never built to be straight. They bulge, dip and curve all the way along and granite won’t flex to follow any of that.

So when we template a job like this, we’re not just taking the room’s overall dimensions- we’re capturing the actual line of the wall itself, every dip and curve included, and cutting that exact line into the edge of the slab.

Against rubble stone, you’re never going to get a perfectly sealed join the wall’s too irregular for that and on a period property like this, that’s not really the goal anyway. What you’re aiming for is a close, sympathetic fit that works with the wall rather than fighting it.

It’s one of those details nobody notices when it’s done well and everybody notices when it isn’t.
