I’m writing this at my kitchen table reflecting not only on the week that’s just been but the 5 years since we started our small business. 5 years on since we stuck the first fork in the ground, Imposter Syndrome is still a very loud voice sat on my shoulder (I suspect the megaphone social media has provided it hasn’t helped) but I am more conscious now that it is only a thought in my head and not reality. Sitting down to write this my head was actually juggling thoughts over seedlings that needed transplanting, flowers that needed deheading, a polytunnel that needed feeding, succession seeds to be sowed, flowers beds to be weeded….the list went on, resulting in a feeling of overwhelm with too much focus on the‘what’s not going so well’. Pausing to create this reel is a reminder for me as much as sharing with you all, that in amongst all the chaos there are some lovely moments to be grateful for and not to give the impression that every thing is perfect. Next time Imposter Syndrome bellows in my ear as I scroll through my Instagram feed, I will be reminding myself that there will be a hidden world of chaos and imperfection happening behind the scenes of nearly all the beautifully curated reels that have caught my eye and potentially made me wrongly judge my own progress.

The season has definitely started! After all the hard work over the winter months, there is definitely a feeling of gratefulness and relief when the first orders of the season are being cutting and on their way to very lovely customers. The flower field has now thankfully dried out after a very soggy start to 2026, so it’s all systems go with weeding, composting and mulching, getting the beds ready for planting out as soon as that last pesky frost has past. The sowing and transplanting doesn’t stop either with the next succession of some crops already underway. It’s not a bad life really 🙂

It never ceases to amaze me how tiny seedlings can become such a mass of colour in a matter of weeks. I love this time of year, being rewarded for all the hard work over winter with such beautiful spring blooms and the joyful hope & anticipation of what’s still to come.

A lovely bank holiday weekend to make a dent in the very long to do list! Lots a transplanting of early sown seeds and sowing 2nd successions of others - that will be a hiding in the polytunnel task while it is raining! When we hopefully get glimpses of the sun, there is lots of weeding of beds and transplanting of perennials to be done. In amongst all the lifting and shifting there will be time to pause though - spring production is definitely underway which always feels such a huge reward after all the work through the autumn and winter. Hope you have a lovely weekend enjoying doing what you enjoy most 🌸
