So after just over 14 years of trading as The Pend Emporium on Osnaburg Street Forfar, the time has come ( to be fair it might of come about a year ago ) for me to vacate the property. The cost of living has affected us all, and the lack of people buying things we don’t need has hit my business hard, with auction percentages getting higher and peoples perception that stuff at auctions is cheap, and gives licence to haggle.
Thank you to everyone who has bought stuff or even rarely sold me stuff, I have met loads of people during my time in the shop some are good friends now.
The shop is a very tying experience, you have to open and maybe no one will come. So closing the bricks n mortar part is probably how the world is going. The shop will close sometime in July 2025.
The future of my trading, I will continue with Errol, Dunecht, Glamis and my various internet selling platforms, this page will continue but the shop will be virtual and anyone wishing to buy can meet me in a car park or similar location, or Errol or mail order. And the virtual shop may pop up in a pop up location. Recently I was on holidays and I toured round loads of antique shop in England, I would like to visit all my friends shops in the UK. I still have an interest in music events so I will continue with these too.

Hi all. I thought I’d share a poem that I wrote today. It’s called Osnaburg Street my favourite street in Forfar

In Forfar town, where Angus hills reside,
A street of charm, where memories abide,
Osnaburg Street, a ribbon old and grand,
A journey back in time, hand clasped in hand.
The cobbled stones, a whisper of the past,
Beneath our feet, their stories ever cast,
A gentle rhythm, as we stroll along,
Where history sings an enchanting song.

The Osnaburg pub, a beacon warm and bright,
With laughter echoing through the day and night, A place to gather, friends both old and new, And share a tale or two, beneath the blue.

The Emporium, a treasure trove of dreams,
Where curious eyes explore, it brightly gleams,
Antiques and trinkets, secrets to unfold,
A tapestry of stories, new and old.

The Pend fish and chip shop, can't be beat,
A paper poke, a vinegar-tinged delight,
Another taste of Forfar, pure and bright.

And Auntie Jacqui’s shop, a haven sweet and dear, With stovies steaming, banishing all fear,
A hearty soup, a creamy ice cream treat,
A taste of home, upon Osnaburg Street.

The Weaver's Cottage, where the threads entwine, A legacy of craft, a skill divine,
The clack of looms, a gentle, rhythmic sound,

A heritage preserved, on hallowed ground.
The scent of heather, carried on the breeze,
The rustling leaves of ancient, whispering trees,

Osnaburg Street, a portrait, rich and deep,
Where love and history their secrets keep.
So let us wander, hand in loving hand,
Along this street, in Forfar's heartland,
And feel the magic, woven in the air,
A timeless beauty, beyond compare.

What's new in Osnaburg Street the Pend Chip shop reopens this evening with chipsteak suppers on special offer.

They have had their sign renovated for this year. See Picture below.

Small subtle improvements are always great for the street.

The chip shop is open from 4pm till 7pm.

Osnaburg Bar, Forfar continues to offer quizzes and food although I think that's fully booked.

The Pend Emporium continues to offer oddities etc look for the bear.

As a page for our street we are doing really well with reviews except they are mostly for the pub we do point this out to the reviewers but they are having such a great time its obviously lost on them.
