Parenthood 💙

Feeling like an absolute champion and total failure at the same time.

The sleepless nights turn into sleepless days. You become forgetful, distant, irritated, frustrated and wonder to yourself “when will this get easier”.

Dirty clothes basket overflowing and those that are clean are now an obstacle around the house.

What was once a tidy home now is littered with muslins , nappies and all sorts of baby stuff. Another reason why you hardly allow people to come over😬

As the sun begins to set, you realise that you haven’t stepped outside your house in days. But you don’t feel bad, you feel safe hiding behind those 4 thick walls.

That first coffee in the morning after your little one has kept you awake all night long seems like the only friend that can help you through the day.

Home cooked meals are minimal and quick. Takeaways become a frequent option when you think of another sleepless night ahead.

When colic sets in or baby goes through another growth spurt you have tears of pain wishing you could do anything to release theirs. Feeling so unbelievably guilty when unintentionally you start to pay less attention to your partner/husband.

But even through all of this, you manage to find something within yourself to power through each day. You find the strength when you look into your baby’s eyes. That beautiful smile. Those tiny hands holding yours. The most warm and sincere cuddles. And you remember that you have never loved anything quite like your baby.

- For every Mummy/Daddy parent out there. Remember you are doing an amazing job
