I’d wanted a little shop by the coast for years and years.

The truth is, Midducks has been tough over the last year or so. There have been moments where I’ve questioned everything, worried about the future, and wondered if I could keep going.

But I’m also trying to remember that just because something has been difficult, it doesn’t mean it hasn’t been a success in so many other ways.

Midducks has given me freedom.

It has given me creativity.

It has taught me skills I never knew I had.

It has given me identity and purpose.

It’s given me amazing sales periods that proved people genuinely love what I create.

It’s connected me with customers who have told me I’ve helped them in ways I never expected and vice versa.

It’s allowed me to work for myself for six years.

It’s helped me discover what I truly love doing- making, creating, marketing, writing, and sharing my thoughts and feelings.

And perhaps most importantly, it’s shown me that I could build something from absolutely nothing. No investment, no blueprint, no safety net. Just an idea, a lot of determination, and countless hours of work.

Even if it feels like it’s hanging on by a thread at times, it’s still here.

Sometimes we get so focused on what isn’t working that we forget to acknowledge everything that is.

So today I’m choosing to be proud. ❤️
