Just a few Finzean locals enjoying the weather… although we’re not entirely sure the cows appreciate the view as much as we do.

Cows lounging in the fields, heather-covered hills in the background and a classic Scottish summer sky overhead.

While parts of England are crying out for rain, we’re feeling rather fortunate to have green fields, plenty of moisture and absolutely no sign of a drought.

Haymaking season is in full swing on Finzean Estate.
If you’ve been visiting the Farm Shop recently, you may have seen tractors passing by with loads of freshly baled hay. It’s a familiar sight at this time of year as the farm team works to bring in the harvest while the weather is on their side.
The hay will provide valuable winter feed for livestock, and it’s all part of the annual cycle of farming here on the estate. We always enjoy seeing the fields transformed into neat rows of golden bales before they’re gathered up and brought home.

We've just had a delivery of beautiful Rainbow Chard, Curly Kale and Black Kale.

These fantastic seasonal vegetables are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides or fertilisers. While they aren't officially certified organic, they grow their produce with the same care and commitment to the environment.

These freshly harvested greens are packed with flavour and perfect for everything from hearty soups and stews to stir-fries, salads and simple side dishes.

Supporting local growers means enjoying produce that's been harvested at its best while helping to sustain small businesses in our community. Pop into the shop while stocks last and pick up some of this week's freshest local vegetables.

If you've visited the tearoom recently, you might have noticed this striking new painting, "Clachnaben" by Scottish artist Madeleine Braithwaite-Exley.

This vibrant landscape captures one of Deeside's most recognisable landmarks with Madeleine's signature bold use of colour and expressive brushwork. The sweeping skies, rich farmland and distinctive silhouette of Clachnaben beautifully reflect the landscape that so many of us know and love.

Born and brought up in Scotland, Madeleine is a self-taught artist whose work is inspired by the country's dramatic coastlines, Highland glens and rolling countryside. Her paintings are celebrated for their ability to evoke a real sense of place.

The painting is currently on display at Finzean Farm Shop, where you can enjoy it alongside the work of other talented artists while visiting the tearoom.
