I've had lots of enquiries recently about making Happy Birthday bunting from baby clothes. So much so, I've created a separate listing on Etsy. Not just for a first birthday, this can come out every birthday 💓

Birthday bunting still going strong and now has a new backdrop. This comes out 4 times a year for family birthdays. An early January birthday is equal parts a nice distraction from Christmas being over, but also a bit too hot on the heels of Christmas organisation madness for my liking. For now, she still loves having a birthday so close to Christmas.

No birthday t-shirt this year. But I did create a "hot tub" cake out of a shop-bought cake, some kitkats and blue icing. It looked very homemade, but that's part of the charm. Of course, the eccentric second child wanted a hot tub party in January 🫣

Been quiet on here this year. I started a new job in January, which was a return to working full time after 11 years. It's been full on (in a good way), but hasn't left me much time for sewing. I temporarily closed my Etsy shop in early December as I couldn't deal with the "Where's my order?" messages I was getting. 2nd class post is slow, especially at this time of year! I'm not Amazon.... Anyway, that meant I had time to make these for my brother and cousins. Our Nan died in October and I wanted to create a memento from her handwriting for us to have on our Christmas trees.

📢 Public service announcement 📢
I am going to close my Etsy shop for Christmas orders this Sunday 8th Dec, so please get your orders in before then. I'm now posting 2nd class, so please bear that in mind when ordering. 📮

I've made c.250 of these initial decorations in the past month or so. Posted out 10 orders at lunchtime and have received another 7 so far today. As fast as I make up stock, it sells, which means I'm mostly making to order now.

A couple more weeks and then I can give myself and my sewing machine a well deserved rest 🎄.

This morning I had my 1,000th sale on Etsy! It’s only taken 8 years to get there, but a milestone nonetheless. These days I only get a few sales here and there over the year, until mid-November when the Christmas decoration orders start flooding in. Thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way. I’ll now be chained to my sewing machine most evenings til Christmas! 🤶

Not a huge lover of Halloween, but cute pumpkins like this I can get on board with. Tempted to make myself a pumpkin garland now....

Other autumnal things I've recreated in felt before include leaves, hedgehogs and acorns 🍂🍁🦔🌰🎃 Could've sworn I'd made pumpkins before now, but can't find any photos of them.

Let's savour the last of the sunshine before the rain returns 😩

Here's a couple of birthday crowns ordered last month for two little granddaughters 😍 👑

If you've been sent my way from welcome! As well as reusable birthday bunting, I also make reusable fabric crowns. They are reversible and adjustable, so can be used year after year.

One of the most common questions I'm asked is "What fabrics do you have?" And the answer to that is "Hundreds! Too many to photograph." If you have colours/a theme in mind, I'll pull out some fabric options for you to choose from. I'm always happy to order in new fabric too 😁

Some very spring-like memory bunting that went out last month. 💐🌼🌸

I currently have three more orders for these, one of which is a Happy Birthday banner made entirely from outgrown baby clothes. Cute! My evenings this week will be spent on the sewing machine, with a couple of crowns to make too.

Kids went back to school today. I find myself in the camp of being happy for a return to routine all round. School holidays are challenging, especially as a working parent. Always glad of a break from the school run and clubs, but then also glad for them to return too 😉

My husband asked yesterday if we "can take the Easter decorations down now". Given that I only made us this bunny and carrot garland on Saturday night, the answer is, absolutely not! 🐰 🥕
