From Footwear Hub

Today Nadia Arden-Scott and Tanya Marriott hosted a round table at Parliament with Alex Baker MP on children’s foot health.

We went in with a simple case to make. Children’s feet are still forming until their late teens, the wrong shoes at the wrong stage can affect how they develop, and the number of places where a child can be properly measured and fitted has fallen year after year. Most parents are doing their best with sizing guides and online orders because the alternative simply is not there any more.

That gap is why we founded The Footwear Hub, a not for profit directory of independent fitting specialists and an education resource for parents. It exists so that any parent, anywhere in the UK, can find someone who will fit their child’s feet properly.

The conversation in that room covered what is happening to children’s feet, what the industry can do, and where policy could help. We will share more on the outcomes as they take shape. After more than 20 years of fitting children’s feet, it meant a great deal to see this taken seriously at that level.
