We are seeking to recruit an experienced Warehouse Operative and Forklift driver. Working as part of a small Team, your responsibilities include a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth daily operation of the warehouse and the fulfilment of customer orders. We are looking for a pro-active, positive minded individual. Keen to contribute ideas to assist and improve the set up of operations to help towards the efficient, smooth running of the warehouse and customer satisfaction.
Main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- General forklift driving to include off-loading, moving stock/pallets from other areas and around the warehouse, rotating stock, positioning stock in racking.
- Container unload – normally 40ft high cube, manual unload.
- Loading and unloading deliveries – using FLT or pallet truck as required
- Picking and packing orders. This may include some rework and manual lifting.
- Checking orders are correct and ready for despatch & delivery to the customer.
- Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with your work.
- Reporting (content and format as agreed) as required.
- Achieve agreed personal targets.
- Ensure compliance with policies, codes, legislation and procedures including health and safety
- Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the business and/or its staff/customers to Line Manager.
- Contribute towards the smooth running of the team.
- Responsibly use resources.
- Adhere to all organization's policies or procedures.
You are responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all targets as agreed with your Line Manager. You must contribute towards the smooth running of the Organisation generally.
Secondary Tasks/Duties:
The role is part of the whole Organisation team and as such requires you to perform such reasonable tasks that are required, as and when necessary, to maintain, to promote, develop and expand the business of our Organisation and its interests generally.
You must carry out your duties to the best of your ability, having consideration for the needs of your colleagues, the Organisation and its customers. You must carry out all lawful and reasonable instructions given to you and comply with the Organisations rules, procedures and policies.
Personal Specification:
- Essential abilities/competencies of this job role
- To hold a valid counterbalance truck license
- Minimum of 3 years experience in this type of job role
- Requisite knowledge of the equipment and processes common to the role
to demonstrate knowledge of applicable health and safety, codes, standards and regulations for this role
- To be friendly and approachable with good communication skills
- To be a hard-working team player with a positive attitude
- To understand and deliver good customer service
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure orders are correctly picked and packed
to demonstrate good time management and task management skills
You need to have and maintain (with regular training and updates as necessary) the knowledge, technical skills and qualifications that are necessary to perform your job to comply with the requirements of the Organisation and any applicable rules, regulations and with any law that applies to your job role.
Salary level - £22,100.00 p.a.
Hours - Your normal hours will be 8.00am – 5.00pm.
In view of the nature of the job you may be required to work occasional weekends and/or bank holidays and you will be expected to work as and when is necessary to meet the needs of the team and your targets.
