Seven years ago, in a tiny corner of Edinburgh, we started SUMMIT.g Edinburgh with a simple but stubborn belief: could be both everyday care and a quiet form of activism.
We launched in 2018. Then Covid hit. Overnight, masks replaced lipstick, demand collapsed, and “non-essential” became the label for an industry that, for many women, is part of how they face the world. We’ve had cash-flow scares, reformulations, shipping headaches and small wins that kept us going. We’re still miles away from our dream – but we’re still here 🎉
That dream is clear:
• To see 5 million women globally using SUMMIT.g Edinburgh as part of their routine within the next 10yrs.
• To make makeup education and advocacy as normal as talking about SPF and body lotion.
• To prove that affordable makeup never has to compromise on quality.
• To use makeup advocacy to highlight the link between makeup use and emotional wellbeing, especially for women who’ve been told it’s “vain” rather than validating.
• To build a brand that thinks “cradle to cradle” – choosing packaging that can be effectively recycled, even when it costs more, and doing our bit in an industry that generates billions of units of packaging every year.
Today we celebrate:
• Resilience – surviving a pandemic in a category that almost disappeared.
• Grit – staying when walking away might have been easier.
• Community impact – every customer, MUA, stockist and friend who has said, “Don’t stop. We need this.” 🤝
Our Core Values stay the same:
INTEGRITY · QUALITY · CARE (SUSTAINABILITY)
Here’s to the next chapter of “makeup for all – without compromising on quality”, and to the 5 million women we haven’t met yet.
Thank you for being part of the SUMMIT.g story. 💄🥳
