Birthlink Thrift Shops

Birthlink Thrift Shops The Oldest and Youngest Charity Shop in Edinburgh! Supporting Birthlink and the fantastic work that they do.

Birthlink is a small Scottish charity, based in Edinburgh. We offer support and advice to adopted adults, birthparents, adoptive parents, birth families and other professionals worldwide. The work of Birthlink is invaluable to those who seek out support. We offer a range of services for adults affected by adoption, operating the Adoption Contact Register for Scotland, a computerised database with

the aim of putting adopted people and their birth relatives in touch when both parties wish for this to happen. We also offer services such as searching, mediation, accessing legal documents, and helping adults who have been in care find information about their past. We have two thrift shops in Edinburgh, the proceeds of which support the work of Birthlink. Thrift Shop 1:

How it started Vs how it's going.

Thanks everyone! This was a great way to end my thrift shop run!!

Unfortunately the wind proved too much for our gazebo, many festivals, but, all things must end, A moment of silence for our fallen comrade.

In the immortal words of John Lennon, we're all set up and ready to embrace capitalism.

Everything £5, £3, £1 we're located along middle meadow walk at the Melville drive end. Next to the wee stage.

Pray for dry kids. Pray for dry.

Well friends. It's time. This will be my last week as custodian of the thrift.

I want to thank you all for making this such a lovely place to work and for helping foster this wonderful community we've created together.

Thank you all for the love, laughs, haunted tat, occasional verbal abuse and general tomfoolery over the years, it's been fine. Mostly.

To mark the occasion Formaldehyde is wearing her mourning cricket pads and her ceremonial sequins.

Don't be sad, I'll be leaving our socials in the capable hands of Faith, who'll be way better at this than I am, and the thrift will go on!

(I say this will be my last week, although I'll still be manning the Thrift Shop stall meadows festival on the 6th and 7th of June, so come buy some stuff and say goodbye!!!)

This injustice has gone on for far too long and is something I can no longer remain silent on.

Everyone deserves to be able to comfortably carry a small train in their pockets.

Gonna start a change petition.

We have this utterly stunning collection of Victorian Sir Walter Scott paperbacks.

These were part of the sixpenny novels series, published in Edinburgh in the 1860s these were from 1868. Considering they're 158 years old they're not in terrible condition, some wear and tear, but the fair maid of Perth's cover has unfortunately come off.

At the dawn of the 21st century, two giants of the time came together to create something more powerful than anybody could have imagined, Changing the course of human history, influencing popular culture and society in ways nobody could have fathomed In the process.

Of course, I'm talking about the musical powerhouse Backstreet Boys, and the Bastian of wellness, titan of political and sociological decision making Burger King.

They didn't just make action figures, these were works of art Da Vinci himself would be proud of, truly a masterpiece, the plastic they were made from could barely contain the power imbued within.

I'll be honest, we only have AJ.

So, I've cobbled together some other guys to reform the band, and I think they'd be great tbh.

First up, obviously AJ McLean, next we have Brain little, Howie Dryburgh, Mick Farter and Bruce Dickinson. What a team. Need a name though, so, if you've read this far, what should they be called?

(Spent way too long trying to work out which one would be Justin Timberlake... 😎)
