Any avid Sherlock Holmes collectors out there? Then this may be of interest to you. This is a wonderful 200-page sketch book belonging to James and Howard k. Elcock and dates from 1899 .. Howard, the younger brother, was one of the Strand Magazine illustrators and did a few drawings for the later Sherlock stories ... he also illustrated posters for LNER ... it’s always a pleasure to purchase one off items for my book shop and this is a lovely example of such an item ... as you can see the book has lost its covers so we are going to give it a lovely new binding sympathetic to the contents of the sketchbook
