I opened Black Moon Botanica on 15th May 2019, with the intention of creating an authentic witches shop - the kind of shop that I wanted as a young witch. I’ve been practicing witchcraft since 1991, working with plants and studying astrology, with a lifelong interest in occult and esoteric practices. The shop idea came to fruition as a way to offer my crafts and knowledge to the witches of Edinburgh. But more importantly, I wanted to help create and support an active community for those interested in learning about the occult and exploring the many aspects of witchcraft.Â
7 years ago, the shop was just me on Candlemaker Row. Now, we have two locations in Edinburgh, one in Amsterdam, and international online shops! I make and run everything with my husband Pieter-Paul, and we have a team of truly amazing shop witches that help make it all possible. I am so grateful for all of our amazing customers, many of which I’m now happy to call friends.
