Fully fitted study area and large shelving unit on main wall.

The desk can be moved between sitting and standing heights. Standing height was of course positioned to suit the client.

I used birch ply as the main construction.

Forbo Flooring Systems desktop linoleum and pin board along with painted back panels for a great colour scheme.

Thanks to Lyne Studio and Fundi Joinery for the help with manufacture.

Small bench or side table (pictured in Elm).

Small and light enough to easily move around, it's great for taking outside for extra seating or somewhere to put your drink.

A pair of 2.5m long Solid Elm benches made for the large 3m table we made back in 2019. ⠀

We finished this bespoke kitchen at the end of last year and had hoped to get back to take some photos before now. We'll have to wait little bit longer, but here's some of the clients own in the meantime. ⠀

The starting point for the design was to use the clients vintage Poul Cadovius wall shelving and cabinets. We made new Iroko wall supports to incorporate the splash backs. This was stained to match the Cadovius units and used to frame the lower cabinets and integrated appliances as well. It's a Corian worktop with sloped drainage area over a gold(!) sink and refurbished taps that once lived in a school science classroom ⠀

Bespoke peg boards, Anglepoise lamps for task lighting, magnetic wooden knife block, reading shelf... and much more. We'll share the full story and spec on the website once we get the photography up.

We used solid Scottish Oak for the desktop and door frames and complimented this with European Oak veneer for the door panels. Designed to be practical with storage for the printer, plenty of room for box files and bespoke filing drawers too.

Back to March 2014 and another of our earlier commissions. Re-imagining the traditional ‘Edinburgh Press’, we call this one the ’Just Outside Dalkeith Alcove’. A combination of beautiful solid Scottish Pippy Oak shelves and European Oak veneer panels for the doors.

Back to 2013 this time with these American Black Walnut wardrobe doors. Traditional frame and panel construction, raising the panels to be flush with a minimal expansion gap for a clean, modern look. As you can see, the client wanted to maximise the storage space and to keep the design as simple as possible to let the timber do the talking.
