Dr Fuller's Exeter University doctoral thesis on Theology has been one of the best kept secrets of writings on the history & background of the Golden Dawn Tradition. It is one of the very finest and most complete pieces of academic literature ever seen on this famous occult Order, and for the first time since it was submitted in 2009, it is available in printed & bound format—both in a hand-bound limited fine edition and a standard hardback.

Dr Anthony "Tony" Fuller is one of the foremost experts on the Golden Dawn Tradition, having spent the better part of four decades studying its original papers and private correspondence, as well as having detailed conversations with actual members of the old Temples in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. "Anglo-Catholic Clergy and the Golden Dawn: The Ritual Revival and Modern Magical Orders, 1887-1940", Dr Fuller's doctoral thesis in theology—more specifically in Western Esotericism—is one significant fruit from that labour.

It has long been known by academics, though never extensively discussed, that the Order of the Golden Dawn found among its Initiates several members of the clergy. With this publication, scholarly texts on the history and background of this famous and fascinating occult Fraternity are joined by the very first detailed account of precisely this topic. And while Anglo-Catholic clerical members of the Order is its main focus, the book is a solid stand-alone work on Golden Dawn history in general.

By way of investigating the various priests and bishops found within the ranks of this esoteric society, and the importance they placed on what they were doing in an Order dedicated to the study & practice of ritual magic, Dr Fuller covers the origin of the Golden Dawn, its original split into its later "incarnations" of the Stella Matutina and the Alpha et Omega, its journey from the UK to New Zealand and the establishing of the Smaragdum Thalasses Temple—the most successful and longest lasting of the original Stella Matutina Temples—as well as its path from there into the present day. Also of significant importance, as seen in the book, is the "offshot" Order known as the Cromlech Temple, or the Order of the Sun, in which many Initiates of the Golden Dawn were also involved, including members of the clergy.

Besides the main content of the book spanning over 632 pages, it contains an extensive bibliography for the serious researcher of Golden Dawn Tradition history. "Anglo-Catholic Clergy and the Golden Dawn" also contains numerous black & white photographs—some incredibly rare and never seen in a publicly available publication until now—as well as facsimiles of various original documents of the Order.

This fine edition, limited to only 25 copies, each of them hand-bound by a master bookbinder in Glasgow, Scotland, has been manufactured according to the highest standards: printed on the paper most ideal for producing the various black & white photographs found within; sewn using traditional machinery; hand shaped to give it that look of classical tomes; bound in "Chieftain Goat Skin" leather; gold foiling on the front, back, and spine; hand-marbled end-papers; satin ribbon bookmark inside the book; and a handmade slipcase lined on the inside with suede to protect the leather. A truly beautiful collector's item that will never again be made available in this astounding format!

This is something we have never done before, as we have never had the need to, but due to the numerous enquiries we have received about our limited fine edition publications, and whether these will be reprinted (which THEY WILL NOT as we are adamant about a single print one of each limited edition we publish, lest the term “limited edition” loses its meaning!), we have decided to hold a private auction for a few select volumes.

“THE GRIMOIRE OF SCOT’S DISCOVERIE OF WITCHCRAFT”
We always receive a complimentary copy—a number 0, as it were—from the printer/binder when they create our works so that we may have one of our own in addition to the proof copy we receive prior to the overall production commencing. We have decided, in celebration of the popularity of “The Grimoire of Scot’s Discoverie of Witchcraft” by Frater S., that we will be auctioning off our very own copy of the limited fine edition of this amazing book! This is an exceedingly rare opportunity to get the number 0 copy of this title—or indeed any title of ours as we will not be making a habit of this—which normally no one but the publisher will own, and we therefore commence the bidding at £650.00 GBP.

In addition, due to unfortunately not having received payment for two reserved copies of the beautiful limited fine edition of Lenny Pedersen’s Way of Cinnabar (which happens every now and then with reserved copies), we will be auctioning these off as well, starting the bidding at the original price of £395.00 GBP per copy; and whoever ends up being the second highest bidder for the first copy will automatically secure him/herself the second copy.

Shipping will be via DHL, cost to be determined based on the location of the bidder, and on which book is being purchased due to the weight difference.

We will then inform you, privately, whether or not you are currently the highest bidder. If you are not, we will inform you only of the amount of the currently highest bid without divulging any information about the bidder him/herself.

Bidding must be in increments of £25.00 GBP (for example £725.00, £750.00, £775.00 etc.).

It was our plan to announce the launching of a limited standard edition of the "Way of Cinnabar" book once all the limited fine edition copies were sold; and now that all 12 of those gorgeous leather bound volumes are gone and will start to ship out, here is the official announcement of the limited standard hardcover edition!

Although this is the first official message from us regarding the book, news had spread quickly once it was discovered that this was also available on the website alongside the limited fine edition—a minor error on our part. As a result, nearly half of the 50 copies to which this edition will be limited are already gone!!!

At Long Last: Shipment of "GSDOW" Limited Fine Edition!

After numerous unfortunate delays due to COVID affecting our printer & binder, then followed by them needing to move into other premises in the midst of production, we have finally received our first shipment of the long-awaited limited fine edition of Frater S' The Grimoire of Scot's Discoverie of Witchcraft! While we have dealt privately with several customers in terms of concerns, updates on the situation etc., we decided to focus first and foremost on dealing with our printer/binder to get the production sorted and hold off on official updates until we had something tangible. At last, that something tangible is here now.

Instead of awaiting full production to be completed and the books to be delivered, we will commence shipping this weekend and all customers will be receiving their copy in the order in which they have been purchased (i.e., as the books are hand-numbered in accordance with the timing of people's purchases). This means some of you will receive your copy within the next week or so while others may still have to wait a bit longer. We are hopeful that our printer/binder will provide them in a steady stream so we can keep sending them out week after week until all customers have each their copy.

Lastly, we wish to offer our most sincere apologies for the repeated delays. While it was entirely out of our hands, as well as the hands of the printer/binder due to circumstances being what they were, we still feel responsible as it is our job to provide our customers with the products they have purchased and in as timely a fashion as possible; and as we had originally estimated a production commencement and completion in May-July and thus the books shipping out in July/August, having had to wait until October/November is a tremendous let-down, and for that we are terribly sorry. Hopefully the quality of the book contents and production will appease even the most disappointed customer.

SCOT, SIBLY AND HOCKLEY

As seen in these two images—both being Ebenezer Sibly's though the second being redone by Frederick Hockley—these two gentlemen were greatly influenced by the grimoire material from Reginald Scot's "The Discoverie of Witchcraft". Not only were magical circles and instruments reproduced in their magical MSS, entire operations taken from the "T.R. & Cokars grimoire/s" were also copied in Sibly's and later Hockley's writings.

For anyone interested in themselves becoming practically familiar with these magical teachings, there are still a few copies left of the limited fine edition of "The Grimoire of Scot's Discoverie of Witchcraft". Get one before it's too late!!
