Our Story

Scayles is an independent music shop with over twenty five years trading history. You can shop online via our Online Store where you can browse the thousands of products we stock in our Edinburgh shop. We stock a wide range of acoustic and traditional musical instruments for the seasoned musician and beginner alike, including stringed, free reed, wind and percussion instruments, instrument bags, cases, stands, strings and a host of musical instrument accessories.

When you buy from us you know that all the instruments are unpacked and checked as soon as they arrive; they are all tuned and set up, if the strings are old they are re strung and string height and intonation are adjusted as necessary, even on budget instruments. Most of the instruments are on sale in the shop and as such are not untouched by human hand, however we take great care of them, restringing and maintaining as necessary. Larger items like amps and PA systems that are the last in stock may not have their original boxes and will have been displayed in the shop for customers to try. They will still be packaged with care and this will not affect your statutory rights.

We endeavour to provide a friendly relaxed atmosphere in our shop with customer focus and best in class after sales service being one of our main objectives. Consequently, many of our customers have become frequent visitors to our shop. If you have any questions or would like advice about choosing an instrument, please don't hesitate to send an e mail or phone the shop during opening hours to speak with a member of staff.
