Another early morning start to go and visit our good friends at TMC Manchester. A rather big shop and lots of fish, corals and dry goods made their way home with us. We brought back a few very nice McCosker flasher wrasse which were my pick of the day.

What a busy week with new fish and corals incoming most days. The store is bursting at the seams after yet another trip ...

What a busy week with new fish and corals incoming most days. The store is bursting at the seams after yet another trip to TMC for some really unusual additions. New for us are some Walking Corals, Heteropsammia spp. the best way I can describe these are they are like small elegence corals but have a tiny worm living underneath so that they seem to be able to walk around. Australian biscuit starfish, Feather stars, long tenticle heliofungai, Giant spider conch, Marshall island wrasse, High hat Sweetlips, an amazing pair of Watanabi angels, Fat head anthias, Majestic angel, Caribbean Blue tang, Purple tilefish are some of the others that caught my eye.

Two years ago while in Florida for Reefapalooza we visited several local marine stores and we all agreed Living Reef was one of our favourites. This was where I first saw a shoal of Mono fish and eventually added them to our own 10ft display. We made a return visit last week and again found the store very impressive and had some time to chat with Ann, the lovely owner. The whole store is immaculate and displayed a great selection of corals and fish. One display tank simply holds a huge Chicago Sunburst anemone, these sell for between $600 ~ $900 but are quite spectacular.

We called in at a new store called Reefez. It has only been going for about a year but was well worth a visit. It was great to chat with Robert the owner about his experience of what works in the US compared with us the UK. It’s always good to learn and share with other store owners. He had a number of display tanks set up which although new and have much growing in to do, I must say everything was super healthy and they will be amazing given time.
