This time we took the Tiger Decal outdoors near Binn Tower, Kinfauns.

After a muddy climb, a wrong turn, and a bit of debating which way to go, we made it to the top for some stunning views over the River Tay as it winds towards the sea.

18 inch Phoenix Star beaker with a clean skull decal design and solid classic shape ✨

Using the diffusion holes on the downstem here as an example of how smoke gets broken up and cooled before reaching the chamber. Nice weight to it, simple setup, and loads of room for ice in the catcher section.

Today I’m in Speyside under Spey Bridge with Highland Papers, a wee nod to William Fife Murray, founder of Pot and Pan, and the handmade paper legacy he left behind.

Born and passing on the 2nd of June, his story lives on through a proper Scottish classic.

One of my favourite straight tubes in the current Phoenix Star lineup. This setup uses a Keck clip to help keep the bowl and down stem connected, helping reduce accidental drops and smashed glass.

Three ice notches, thick glass, beautiful down stem detail, and a clean straight tube design.

Also talking a bit about where Keck clips came from and why they do not always fit every setup.
