The Flower Pedlar As a Pedlar, I used to push my barrow of flowers around city centres but changing times mean change for me too.

I am now taking bouquet orders for beautiful freshly picked English Country Garden flowers grown by me in the Meon Valley.

A garden-grown birthday bouquet, gathered fresh from the flower patch in all its midsummer abundance.

Filled with fragrant garden roses, airy cosmos, delicate campanula, sweet agrostemma, frothy yarrow and all the little seasonal treasures that make every bouquet unique. No two are ever the same – just a celebration of whatever is looking its very best that morning.

There’s something so lovely about giving flowers that have been grown slowly, picked by hand and arranged with the seasons rather than the supermarket shelves.

I hope these blooms bring as much joy as they did to me while creating them.

My flower stall will be taking a little break until mid-August. 🌸

The recent hot, dry weather has meant fewer blooms and shorter stems than I’d hoped, so I’m keeping every flower I have for customer orders.

My heart goes out to fellow flower farmers who are also battling these conditions, especially those without irrigation or facing hosepipe bans. After all the seed sowing, pricking out, nurturing and planting in spring, it’s tough to see the weather take its toll. 💚

💜 How to Make a Beautiful Dried Lavender Bouquet 💜

One of the joys of summer is preserving the scent and beauty of fresh lavender so you can enjoy it for months to come.

Here’s how I make my hand-tied lavender bouquets:

1. Tie the lavender stems together with string before cutting. This keeps everything neat and makes cutting much easier.
2. Level the flower heads at the top, then divide the stems into small bunches of about 30 stems each.
3. Add each bunch one at a time, twisting and rotating your hand as you go to create a balanced hand-tied bouquet.
4. Secure the bouquet with natural raffia.
5. Trim the stems so they are all the same length.
6. Stand the bouquet in about an inch of water and leave it in place to dry naturally.

As the water slowly evaporates, the lavender will dry beautifully while keeping its shape and have a wonderfully fragrant bouquet that fills your home with the calming scent of lavender.

🌸 My flower stall is taking a little summer break…

If you’ve walked past recently, you’ll have noticed my flower stall is looking rather empty—no colourful blooms or beautiful fragrance to greet you.

The recent hot weather has been a real challenge in the flower garden. Blooms are fewer and they fade much more quickly in the heat. Rather than leave flowers on the stall that aren’t at their very best, I’ve decided to pick to order only.

That means every bouquet is freshly picked just for you, at its peak. 💐

Simply send me a DM or message/call 07875 499709, and I’ll hand-pick your flowers and keep them cool until you’re ready to collect.

☀️ A little summer pause… but not goodbye! 🌸

After much thought, I’ve decided to give my flower stall a little break until mid-August.

This glorious sunshine has been wonderful, but it’s also sent the flowers in my cutting garden into overdrive! They’re blooming and going to seed so quickly that I just can’t keep the stall stocked with the beautiful, long-lasting blooms I’d like to offer. Add to that the constant watering, and Mother Nature is definitely keeping me on my toes! ☀️💦

I’m still very much open for bouquet orders, though. I’ll make them fresh to order, keep them lovely and cool until you collect, and they’ll go straight into a vase of water ready to enjoy.

Thank you so much for all your support—it really does mean the world to this small flower grower. 💕 I can’t wait to fill the stall again in a few weeks when the garden has had a chance to catch its breath.

My plot keeps me busy from spring until autumn, leaving me longing for the slow winter months when I imagine I’ll finally have time to relax. While that open free time rarely materialises, I’ve collected some things, just in case: garden jigsaws, DIY model flower shop, and flower bouquet paint-by-numbers. I wonder if I will actually do any of them? I bought the Model-making Flower Shop 3 years ago now: it’s still in its box 🙈 #
