MenB is rare, but it can cause meningitis and sepsis — and it spreads fastest exactly where students end up: halls, shared kitchens, close living.
Your teen may be eligible for the free vaccine if they're:
✅ 17–18 and born between 1 Sept 2007 and 31 Aug 2008
✅ Under 25 and starting university or moving into residential further education for the first time
Here's the bit worth knowing: under-25s starting uni can get vaccinated with us at Medicine Clinic — no GP registration needed. (17–18-year-olds registered with an England GP can also book online)
It's 2 doses, at least 4 weeks apart, for full protection — so the sooner the first one's done, the better.
