February Roundup!
Finally, it feels like spring is coming!
We have even had about two sunny days in February which Maisie and Paddy have made the most of. It’s hard to believe that their winter holidays are almost over and they are heading back to Weston for the spring and summer. We always say goodbye to them in March so that we can get the stables clean and ready for lambing.
We have loved having them once again, they bring us so much pleasure, and we will look forward to welcoming them back for their 16th winter in about September.
Their rolling and eeorring makes us smile, and a donkey cuddle is a lovely thing. This weekend (28th/1st) is their last weekend before they leave so be quick if you want to see them. If it’s dry they will be in the paddocks, if wet then they may choose the shelter of the stable.
Don’t worry though, we as far as possible there always to be some animals for you to see, earlier in February we had the three ‘quite big pigs’, and at the moment you can see Rosie and her piglets. You will have to wait until the end of March and early April for lambs, but that’s only a few weeks away now.
In the meantime we have been busy with all the usual farm work, including to begin to train our youngest Collie (has potential, but requires some work).
We are continually finding new products and suppliers for the shop, focusing as much as possible on local and regional produce.
