Time to say goodbye to peonies for this year.
These were the last of the peony bouquets that went out today.
Peonies have such a short season made even shorter with the heat we have had this Spring.
The bouquets had the first pickings of larkspur and ammi along with sweet williams, cornflowers and achillea.

What a fantastic and very busy 2 weeks.
Thank you for the orders for peony and cottage garden bouquets.
Every order either from florists or the public is very much appreciated.

Peony season is coming to a finish. It’s always a shame when a flower finishes for the year. They have been stunning this year, large flowers and beautiful colours.
But as the weather has been so hot and we haven’t had much rain it has meant the season has finished far quicker then usual.
It has also affected the other flowers used in these late spring bouquets. With the sweet rocket and lupins finishing earlier than other years.

Coming next we have sweet williams, some roses along with cornflowers and achillea.

It’s been a very busy couple of weeks here at Little Bell Florals.
We have had 2 huge florist orders along with customer ordered bouquets leave the farm.
Next week is busy again with another large florist order and preordered bouquets.
Also this week I have been busy potting on the tender annuals for summer flowers that were sown back in March.
I am a bit later potting on than I would like, but after the frosts and cold weather we have had I’m actually pleased that I am later doing that job. I have seen so many fellow flower farms across the country loose their precious plants down to these late frosts. It’s heartbreaking when you’ve nurtured them to loose them to the weather.

Next weeks flowers are very limited due to the volume needed by the florists. I will look at availability on Thursday ready for advertising here on Friday. So keep an eye out for anything available.

Hello everyone.
Life has been very busy the past couple of weeks so apart from managing some seed sowing of the half hardy annuals, not a lot has been done in the field.
This has coincided with a lull of the flowers after the tulips finished. So apart from individual flower orders for florists not a lot has been ready for bouquets and jars.
Yesterday I started again with planting out the hardy annuals, sweet peas and perennials along with a general tidy up.
The field is gradually starting to fill up with the summer flowers. The next job is to pot on the half hardy annuals ready for them to be planted out.
Some of the flowers are getting ready so I am hoping that there will be bouquets and jam jars ready next week. Keep your eyes peeled for more information.
Saw this painted lady butterfly while working in the field today. Not a butterfly I normally see so was very excited and ended up stalking it around to take lots of photos. Obviously a natural star as it stayed still for me.

Wow. What a tulip season we have had but sadly that is now finished for another year. As nice as it is to have some warmth and sunshine, it makes the season far too short.

Our flowers will return in a couple of weeks, with foxgloves, lupins, sweet rocket and then by the end of May the gorgeous sweet peas.
Watch these pages for when they become available.

The Ship Inn - Fosdyke Bridge
An introduction to Little Bell Florals and what we offer during our season that runs from March to October.
All the flowers we use are grown here by us using, seeds, bulbs and tubers in our greenhouses then nurtured and planted out in our flower field before being in the perfect condition needed for our bouquets.
Our season starts in March with our specialist daffodils and peony style tulips.
We offer them in bouquets on their own or mixed with other spring flowers and in the popular jam jars.
Then come the late Spring flowers including peonies, lupins, foxgloves, corncockle and sweet rocket in bouquets or jam jars.
Late May bring us the delights of sweet peas. A favourite of mine and one which got me into growing cut flowers, with their delicate and sweet smelling flowers, supplied in bunches or jam jars.
We then move onto the early summer flowers. Roses, cornflowers, achillea to name just a few, all supplied in bouquets or jam jars.
During the summer we offer teachers gifts for the end of the school year.
Moving onto late summer and Autumn we have dahlias, cosmos and other flowers.
To be a part of these unique flowers throughout our season then message the page to be added to the subscription email list where you have a choice of buying if you would like to.
If you would like your flowers delivered to the Ship Inn Fosdyke Bridge then that can be arranged.
