FREE TO JOIN AND NO ID NEEDED! DVDs 1 week loan £1.10, £2.75 or £4 depending on title (most children's films are £1). Audio books in CD or preloaded MP3 players for 3 week loan £2 or free for disabled borrowers. It was lovely to welcome children and parents to our first 'Ready for School Session'. Children had a starting school storytelling session from our volunteer Sharon and then library staff were available to talk about how we support learning to read and the primary school transition. We are holding another session on Tuesday 11th August from 11-11:45pm we hope to see you there.

Last weekend Dartmouth celebrated The Thomas Newcomen Steam Festival. It was great to be in partnership with The Festival and have a storyteller Veronica Conboy at the library as part of the celebrations. The children were really engaged listening to the story based around steam.
The storytelling followed our craft session where we made cars and created a map of town. There was lovely team work with children working together on this project using their imagination and creativity.
The children are really keen on the transport theme running through this year SBQ.

From Saturday 11th July, here at Dartmouth Library children can sign up for The Summer Book Quest: Mission to Wayfarer Island. Read books, collect stickers, and complete activities throughout the summer holidays.

It's a great way for kids to build reading confidence and find real pleasure in books over the summer. Children can sign up at Dartmouth Library from 11th July.
