What do we do?

Robyn’s Restorations specialise in vintage rocking horses.

We accept bespoke commissions so your own horse can also be fully customised to your specifications, perhaps to resemble a much loved pet, literary/film hero or celebrity equine. We have over 30 years of experience with real horses, so we know how to make your heirloom piece realistic and can advise on the best approach to achieve your vision.

For your antique horses we offer sympathetic restoration to replicate the original finish, utilising hand painting and dappling techniques. New tack and real horse hair can be supplied and fitted to complete the refurbishment and the stand or rocker fully serviced and refinished.

A small number of horses are also produced for sale each year, please enquire if you would like further details of any we may have available.

We are located on the Isle of Wight but can organise nationwide courier services as required.

Introducing… 🐴 Stephanie 🐴

Stephanie is a vintage Haddon rocking horse, fully restored and looking for a new home to grace.

Haddon is England’s oldest established rocking horse maker and their horses are built to last through several generations.

Stephanie is a Wallingford 36165 model with turned head, standing at 41 inches tall she is strong enough to take an adult rider. Her fibre glass body has been painted completely by hand, she has a friendly face, realistic glass eyes, eyelashes and a real horsehair mane and tail. Stephanie is mounted on a wooden safety stand, which has been fully serviced, waxed and polished; she has been fitted with a brand new set of handmade removable leather tack.

A true heirloom piece which will bring hours of delight to children and adults alike, and look truly magnificent in any home.
