We've uncovered rat's nests in the back of panels that would make the average rodent's heart swell with envy.

"Out of sight, out of mind" sounds great until you need to troubleshoot a problem, move an instrument or add a new device. We've seen loose cables get snagged on hinge mechanisms and rip connectors out of instruments. We've even found exposed conductors on live 12v lines hiding in bundles of wire. Recipes for expensive and time consuming repairs.

Cleaning it all up is a bit of a thankless job but it's very satisfying and someone in the future will be very glad it's been done.

Yesterday we had a nice day. A solid middle of the pack for the Open and 18m boys, not too far behind.
A great 2nd place for the 20m class with Steve and Garry! 🥈

Not a mechanical needle in sight! What a panel 🥵

On the left we have the two heavy hitters when it comes to digital, multi-purpose instruments. The all new LXNAV ADI2 as the primary ASI and Altimeter, sitting over the 3-in-1 AIR Avionics ACD57 (in this case configured to only control the radio and transponder). Clean and compact, allowing room for the full size Gen 5 LX9070, with the V8 vario in the top right. Just below the V8 we have the standalone SxHAWK. The cherry on top, hiding off to the right, is the Naviter SeeYou Oudie N IGC.

Not only is this a top tier panel from a raw performance, accuracy and connectivity perspective but also from a redundancy perspective. 3 separate power supplies and if by some catastrophe you lose all of them, the ADI2, SxHAWK and obviously the Oudie N have built in batteries. Usually the backup option is just about sufficient to get you home - This panel remains competitive with a total power failure.

This is pretty much as good as it gets. No notes 🙌
