What are the items in these pictures?

Whenever we do annual inspections we have a good look for any debris and these items were very well hidden. Both were right at the back of their glider's respective tails and both predated the current owners of the gliders they were in.

We are already taking bookings for this winter, so if your pride and joy needs some maintenance or you have some modifications in mind - get in touch soon!

Side mounted Oudie ❌ - boring, overdone, blocks side visibility
HUD mounted Oudie ✅ - Fresh, modern, no visibility blocked

Feels so wrong and yet so right. What other unique ways can you mount an Oudie 🤔?

What custom acronyms, checklists and prompts do you have in your glider?

We recently saw this in a customer's glider and thought it was an interesting riff on the standard WULF checklist (probably a bit better as well). Can't help but feel like it needs a P at the end...

Custom checklists and prompts are incredibly useful and something all the world champions we've interviewed do. They even use checklists for getting ready in the morning and for decision making in the air.

Some others we've come across:
- List of gliding frequencies
- CBSIFTBEC
- Don't suck
- Contain the chimp

Say hello to Ryan in the comments!

Ryan is the latest member of the sales team, helping us operate the shop, field enquiries, and provide technical support over the phone and via email.

When not at work, Ryan is a keen artist and has been drawing or creating for as long as he can remember (which we'll have to put to good use!). He's a huge lover of theme parks and is looking forward to trying gliding to see if it matches the rush of the rollercoasters.

Ryan will be working alongside Douggie, Dorian, and Jake to improve the shop's offerings. You'll see him at a gliding club near you soon!

We've uncovered rat's nests in the back of panels that would make the average rodent's heart swell with envy.

"Out of sight, out of mind" sounds great until you need to troubleshoot a problem, move an instrument or add a new device. We've seen loose cables get snagged on hinge mechanisms and rip connectors out of instruments. We've even found exposed conductors on live 12v lines hiding in bundles of wire. Recipes for expensive and time consuming repairs.

Cleaning it all up is a bit of a thankless job but it's very satisfying and someone in the future will be very glad it's been done.

Time really flies (pun intended). We now have several video collections dedicated to Performance Flying, Speed Flying Theory and Thermaling (among others), with many more to come.

Thank you to everyone who's subscribed to make this series possible and for all the feedback that has helped create such a fantastic resource for glider pilots.

For the uninitiated, we have a Patreon account where we release a gliding coaching video, every fortnight. We actually released one earlier today on safe final glides and in the works we have a whole series on reading the sky. You can check out our on: Patreon.com/Navboys
