I want to share this and ask if you could sign and share my petition please.
At the age of 13 my cousin sexually abused me. I didn’t tell a soul because he told me I would get in trouble. I wasn’t savy or streetwise, far from it I was a girl guide a church choir girl and pretty introverted.
Fast forward 34 years and I couldn’t keep it in any more. I disclosed to my closest friend, my husband and then my parents and then I went to the police.
This started a 5 year process of investigating and applying to the CPS for justice but every appeal was met with “ no harm to the public interest” because he had no other convictions.
As a survivor of this trauma I feel it’s time for us to stand up and make a movement to have the CPS support the victims and not the abusers.
I have started a petition to bring this issue to the higher powers that victims / survivors deserve better from the justice system.
So if you can please sign my petition and share so survivors can finally get justice and work towards peace. Thank you xx
