This is Jeanette, and after three months volunteering with St Helena Shops in our Colchester Books, Brews & Boutique store, she has now secured a paid role within our team!

Her journey is a great example of how volunteering can help you gain valuable experience, build confidence and develop new skills, preparing you to take the next step towards employment.

Meet our recent visitors - Ruby and Rupert 🐾

Did you know that two of our shops have their very own dog-friendly cafés?

Visit us our Mersea shop and enjoy a delicious selection of hot and cold drinks, alongside the famous Tiptree Patisserie cakes, plus vegan and gluten-free options. And of course, treats for your four-legged friends!

The same is available at Books, Brew & Boutique in Stanway, with the addition of delicious sandwiches and meal deals too.

Our Magdalen Street Furniture Store has recently been transformed into the Home & More Store ✨

While you'll still find our great range of furniture, we've expanded our offer to include homeware, décor, electricals, books, toys, clothing, shoes and much more.

The store has also undergone a stylish makeover, creating a fresh urban-retro look within its industrial warehouse setting, making it the perfect place to hunt for hidden gems.

Our volunteers are truly amazing.🤩

Ann and Sandy do a fantastic job at our BBB shop, helping to package pocket-money toys and keeping the cuddly toy crates well stocked, ready for children to enjoy throughout the summer holidays.
