(Excuse the messy desk/workspace and sleepy face) 🫠

Another WIP done! This is the Grandpa Cardigan by Erica Gabriella Studio (for Hobbi Design). All I needed to do was the 2nd sleeve, collar ribbing and weaving in the ends but for some reason I just got stuck on sleeve island! 🏝️

I'm so pleased with the outcome and it's such a comfy and perfect fit. As soon as the ends were weaved in I instantly put it on. I made some minor modifications to fit me like the collar and sleeve lengths but overall it was a pretty simple pattern! Now onto the next UFO to finish!

🧢✨ Knitting Plans for 2025! ✨🧢

This year I have so many plans to improve my knitting skills so I thought I'd share some patterns I'm itching to cast on! Let's call them my Knit Year's Resolution!

- Polar Star Sweater by (I'm from Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides so it seems fitting!)

- Sophie Hood by (I maaaay have already cast on)

- Porcelain Sweater by (The colour work is scary but I CANT WAIT to start this!)

- ANY and ALL the socks in my Knitted Moomins Socks. Patterns by .nyk (As a HUGE Moomins fan I had to treat myself to the book for my birthday.)

As you can see, I plan to do a lot more colour work, cabling and more intricate patterns. Nothing too unfamiliar but also techniques I'm not too confident or experienced with. I also plan to take my time so I don't get too bored or sick of a certain pattern. Also don't worry, I haven't forgotten about crochet! Those patterns are coming soon.

So, what are your knitting plans for 2025? Let’s inspire each other! πŸ’–

Stepping up my game for 2025. I already have so many on the go and my obsession with the Sophie Scarf by is far from being over... Why not make my first official project of 2025 the Sophie Hood? Here goes nothing!

Now to drink more of my Vanilla Matcha Latte and plan, plan, plan!

I haven't posted since April on this account so I just want to pop in as it's now December 1st. Officially the year is ending and I've made a lot of projects, mistakes, learned more and added to my pile of unfinished WIPs. I also returned to knitting for the first time in over a year which has been really nice.

My plans for 2025 is to work on a stash busting blanket and once all that yarn has depleted I can be more mindful of what I buy. I am low income so having two pricey hobbies (fibre arts and video games) is often heartbreaking. I buy second hand from charity shops or the reuse/recycled textiles shop in town, or if I'm lucky people give me their old yarn.

This hobby brings me so much joy and is a mode of therapy for me when I'm feeling low, stressed, burnt out....all the negative emotions under the sun. Much like video games, fibre arts heals me. 2023 and 2024 were incredibly challenging, it tests me and also broke me. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I hope next year is filled with expressing my creativity, more luck, perhaps showcasing more of my work outside of TikTok and above all, being more mindful about yarn. ☺️

Here's to 2025!

Yet another update folks.

After discovering Buri's catheter being loose and not doing anything to help him, the vets are now sedating him and putting in another catheter. This means he will need to be sent for another overnight stay at the out of hours vets then picking him up early in morning tomorrow again.

Our plan is to get a taxi for both trips and walking when we're not carrying Buri, but if any Colchester friends are able to give us a lift tonight and/or early tomorrow morning we'd be eternally grateful. Private message if you need my number. If all else fails we'll taxi it. Thank you all so much for your ongoing support.

A big thank you to those who have donated to help with Buri's vet bills and shared the GoFundMe page. We're both feeling exhausted after an overall sleepless night of worrying. I called at midnight before attempting to sleep and got an update, things were looking positive and Buri sounded like his cuddly but grumpy self. I picked him up from the out of hours vets to take him to the day vets to be observed and taken care of today. Depending on how he gets on today there's a chance he may or may not have to go back to the out of hours vets to be looked after. This is a rinse and repeat cycle if he has a slow recovery. The vets are feeling positive about his recovery though but of course are being very careful. There's a huge possibility that this can happen again due to his condition so now it'll be a lifestyle change for Buri (and the household) as his new food is way more expensive now. It's time for research, sacrifices and more hard work ahead...and as much as Buri will hate it, no treats whatsoever. Better to be safe rather than very very sorry.

As GoFundMe has fees and doesn't work in some countries, I've had friends from around the world who have personally contacted me and donated. Thank you so much. Also a huge thank you to my brother in law Matt for helping us with transportation yesterday and this morning.

Hello beautiful people! It's been a while. Unless you follow me on TikTok (either account) or my other socials you may have thought I fell off the face of the earth. Well...I did, in a way. That however is for a different day.

Today, (or rather yesterday) I finally finished a WIP! I couldn't find any non confusing patterns online so I sort of winged it with this granny hexagon shirt. I'm really proud of it and myself as I have a habit of abandoning projects if the spark dies. I was hyperfocused on this though and I am now making shorts with the same yarn! What project should I make after that?

Hook(s): 5mm (main), 4mm (edging, button holes and collar)
Yarn: Cygnet Pato Everyday in Daisychain
Buttons: random ones found in the local vintage charity shop ( )

Things have been quiet but crazy the last few months. I have every intention to reopen the store but I needed some time for me. I'm in the process of making stock and looking at new designs to put up.

In the meantime, enjoy this Majora's Mask and look out for more to come!

Roll for Initiative! Just before lockdown, some friends and I decided to start playing Dungeons and Dragons. I'm hooked.. so much that I made this which I now use as a rolling mat.

If you play, whats your character like?

The was put up the other day and I could resist to put some of these pieces on! Some are available on my and selling quick! If you have a request or commission please don't hesitate to contact me!

I just love how the stars and mushrooms were made with and brighten up the tree. When I was younger, I also opted for a more white light classic feel but in recent years I've preferred this colourful and fun look to the tree! I can't wait to get a taller tree next year (this one is 4') so I can put more homemade and personal up.

Do you prefer traditional decor or do you like to jazz it up like mine? I'd love to know!
