We specialise in custom boot fitting which is a service we offer free of charge by appointment. We stock a range of the best Outdoor brands such as Paramo, Montane, Sprayway, Mountain Equipment, Lifeventure, Trekmates, Meindl, Scarpa, Hanwag, Altberg, Fjallraven, Deuter, Lowe Alpine & RAB. We are a family run independent retailer and pride ourselves on the service and choice that we offer.

This is us. James and Emily (admittedly a few years ago!)

Interesting things about us: We love travel but don't do it enough! We've spent time at an animal sanctuary in Indonesia, explored Australia, visited Rome, enjoyed Paris, and loved Budapest. We have run our business together for 16 years using our combined experiences from decades in retail, engineering, and business. James used to compete in the nationals cross country mountain bike races. Emily was (briefly) on TV on a programme called Shopping City when she worked for Laura Ashley.

Things that are not interesting about us: Our GCSE grades.

As parents of a young person about to receive their grades, we hope we have assured him that grades don't make a person. Experiences, time, hobbies and people you meet along the way are what actually make the person.

Who's Longmynd Hike training this weekend?
Consider this your reminder to check the kit list! It stresses Emily out when people rock up in store the day before looking for trail running shoes and waterproofs, so do her a favour and check your kit now!!
On the staff team we have two previous hikers, two signed up for this year and a check point ninja so please feel free to pop in and ask if you need any help with kit.

After several weeks of record-breaking sunshine, we'd just like to reassure everyone that fleeces haven't been discontinued.

If you've forgotten how they work, don't worry—we're here to help.

Simply insert your arms into the sleeve-shaped holes, pull the fleece around your torso and fasten the zip to your preferred level of cosiness.

With British summer now back to normal service, you'll be an expert again in no time.

If you donated your fleeces to charity in a rash act of generosity when you thought it was going to be sunny forever, then visit us online or in store to stock up again.

During this heatwave, please spare a thought for all those waterproof jackets that sit sadly at the window, left behind again as you confidently head to the hills wearing shorts and t-shirt.

They know they have carried you through storms and dark days, and they know their time will come again, but for now, they sit in the shadows. They get it, they're not holding a grudge, they know that before long the shorts will be packed away and they will rise triumphantly to protect you once more.

Happy Father's Day 🥳
The shop is open as usual but James is at home being spoilt. His gift of chocolates was lovingly selected & purchased, shoved in a school bag, taken home ... & left in a warm room where it has since melted! 🥴 Should've gone to The Outdoor Depot, socks don't melt 😉
